Found this place looking for info. Do you often dream your some one else?

I tend to jump from character to character. Sometimes I'm outside the action.. and sometimes I'm trying on people like body suits where I feel their emotions and capacities. I haven't heard of it before and I thought I'd see if anyone else had that type of experience.
Also, Lucid vs conscious? Recently I tried an excersize and it worked for about five minutes.. then I became too conscious and the dream faded and I was aware of my body.
I often suffer from a lack of sleep paralysis which use to cause sleep walking and now mainly manifests in talking and some motor movement.
Anyway, dreams fascinate me and I look forward to seeing what this place is about.

Welcome! and you came to the right place if dreaming facinates you!

I have experienced being in another body while lucid, i can't recall any experience changing body during a normal dream.
However, i get the feeling from reading other users experiences in here that it is somewhat normal for most people to change shape/body/gender, atleast while lucid.

I haven't felt other emotions than "my own" though, so i can't really say if that is the general feeling people get.

I haven't changed bodies in a lucid dream, but it happens often in normal dreams. Last time I was a 40 year old woman .

Welcome to DV! Good luck finding what you are looking for.

I'm almost always myself. Been a few other people a couple of times, but mostly I'm myself in random scenarios and situations.

      Welcome to DV!

I haven't tried body-switching in a lucid dream, but it happens fairly often in my non-lucids. I switch around in characters and from 1st to 3rd person a lot, and occasionally I am a different person for the duration of the dream (like one time I turned into a guy...that was interesting).

Thanks all, I hadn't heard of it happening before, so it's cool to see others experience the same thing. I've dug around the site and seen several expamples.

Welcome to Dream Views! This is the place to be for anyone wanting to learn how to lucid dream. The Dream Guide team is here to help you navigate the forum and answer questions. We all have 3 green stars above our avatar. Click on our user name and you can then select private message if you have a question, or you can start new threads. Don't worry about starting threads that have been started before, just try it out, if it ends up in the wrong place one of us can move it for you.

I think I am always myself in dreams. I can shape shift and such, but I am always me.

One thing you can do in a post is place a link to another thread. I have done this below. You can click on the colored words to see the new thread. Start with this extra basic one, it will help you read the acronyms in other posts, Help With Acronyms For Complete Beginners

After that one the very first thing you should do is check out basic tutorials. This one covers most of the terms you will see members using in much more depth, so start here, http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/

Also be sure to check out the DVA Dream Views Acadamy, click on this link to get there, DV Academy.

Matte , our Dream Guide team leader runs a general lucid dreaming class, and you can join in contests where you gain points for dreams you have. General Lucid Dreaming (Matte87)

Gab , another Dream Guide runs a class that is very valuable to beginners on MILD/DILD, which is by far the best method to start with. DILD (Hukif and gab)

Finally as far as the DVA stuff goes, there is a class on introduction to lucid dreaming. This is a great place if you are just starting out and need a little personal help. Intro Class (OpheliaBlue, RareCola, CanisLucidus, Chimpertainment, Xanous)

I hope to save you some time by giving you a link to a thread we all put together on the topic Sleep Paralysis. There has been so much misinformation and confusion on this topic, that after a few days on the sight, you would surely run into confusing statements refering to SP. Save yourself some frustration and read this post if you want to know about SP, http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/sleep-...lained-136993/

Now, on the lighter side, you may be excited to learn to fly! Here is a thread where people explain how they went about learning to fly, http://www.dreamviews.com/f14/can-u-...u-learn-40468/

Then just for a laugh here is a thread where people list all the things they want to do in an LD. It is mostly light hearted and supposed to be funny, http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/1000-t...-dream-104556/

Have fun and good luck with your dreaming!
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.
