Question I can't lucid dream very often

      Dear community,
A month ago, i started practicing the methods to lucid dreaming. I kept a dreaming journal, to remember my dreams, i made often reality checks, but nothing worked. I just didn't have lucid dreams. So i quit trying to have them.
Some time ago, i was at home and i looked at my clock and it was spinning. I knew i was dreaming and i became aware of it, but my dream was weird, badly constructed by my subconscious mind. I didn't care about it and i flew right away, preety easily. When i woke up, it felt very good and i started doing those methods again.
But i never had another lucid dream since that one. I can't understand why the methods don't work with me.
      Help me please :)

I have an alarm that wakes me up every single day in the middle of the night to practice LD'ing, I constantly read about LD's and engage the forums in discussions and ask questions to improve my knowledge. Within 3 weeks of practicing seriously I achieved 6 lucid dreams, all it takes is some serious dedication and it will come.

Make sure your reality checks are sincere and not just a habitual thing. I also suggest starting a work book that you keep up with in the DV Academy. Also, introduce yourself in the introduction section, list out some goals you are trying to achieve, and give us a little bit more information on what you have done already and what you are trying to do more specifically.

Some people have to try really hard to get lucid in the beginning. Perhaps you're using the wrong technique? Mostly it's all about staying enthusiastic and really want to achieve a lucid dream.

It took me 8 months to have my first lucid. When at first I was trying, I experienced the rarest dreams I've had in my life and none of them lucid. I heard cries near my ears, I felt pulled from my bed quite a few trimes , listened to loud music etc. It took me another three months to have my second and then they became more regular 4 or 5 per month that for my age is pretty good. I've never done reality checks because I do not believe in that theory even when Laberge describes them in his books.

There's actually a limit of only 1 lucid dream every 3 months, so you have to wait but it's worth the wait!

After a month of trying Lucid dreaming, one LD is actually freaking fantastic. Took me 2 months (kind of... Check out my DJ for more info). It gets easier and easier, but if you go on and off, you won't be able to have many (most probably).

Sounds like you quit in less than a month. Before you start again I would look into exactly how much time this hobby takes and ask yourself if you are willing to give up that much time for a whole year. If you can't, then I suggest you wait till you can. I dropped a few hobbies for it, and have had satisfying results (this month screwed me over though with all the not sleeping during the holidays).

I would recommend signing up for classes here.

Welcome to DV! I hope you decide to LD. It is well worth the sacrifice.
