      Thumbs up Helloooow from Holland!

      Hello people,

My name is Benjamin and I'm not totally new to this. I started a half year ago with LD. I stopped after a month with my dream journal, because the lack of motivation.

I never knew you can make your dreams more clear and "real". The dreams were always a bit blurry. I had already some LD's of short duration.

This is a really good site and I found already what I needed to know. Thank you all!

Hi and welcome to DV! You have a really nice avatar! You know, sometimes I get into periods of low motivation too, but what gets me back on track is knowledge that if I persist with dreaming one day I will be able to have dreams about whatever I want. I do have lds where I do all kinds of things I like, but one thing that inspires me even more is be eventually able to build an entire dream with the elements I imagine, vivid, stable and long lasting.

For motivation you do not need to look only in the dreamworld - think about something you really like in daily life and daydream about you actually being there in a dream, but with the high quality of real life. Maybe you want to go to the beach, imagine the beautiful scenery, the crystal clear water, the wind. Or maybe you want to have an adventure on another planet or explore what it feels like to live like a wolf ? Anything that you are really passionate about you can do in your dreams. I know it's not easy to achieve this, but for me this the ultimate motivation. And of course, you can think of small goals to achieve along the way, which will make you happy.

Anyways, have fun learning more about dreaming and exploring your imagination. See you around and sweet dreams!

Great idea! I made up a list what I really want to do in my dreams, which made my motivation grew +5. I like to set some goals to. It proved to me earlier in live that that worked out pretty well.

Thanks for the tips & see you around!

Hey welcome to dreamviews, Hoe gaat het?
It took me a year to find the motivation for succeeding to lucid dream, I must have tried like 3 times in that time period and only on my last try did I get good at it.
Try not to get upset if it doesn't work straight away, it's definitely something worth waiting for. And if you do ever feel that it's too much, there's no harm in taking a short break. In fact many people actually get lucid more frequently once they take a break.
I like nyxcc's advice, having simple real life goals for your dreams can help push motivation too.
Anyways if you need any help just ask.

Hej Dutchraptor, met mij gaat het goed en met jou?
I'm focusing myself at dream recall and reality checks first, because I only remember some fragments and some details.

Thank you for the advice, you guys are great!
