      Hola

Hi, I'm very new to this but I have researched in the past and have managed to have a few small lucid dreams randomly during naps in the past. I came across this site and was intrigued so I figured I'd start a DJ here. This will be the first time I've really put forth much effort to LD so bear with me ^_^. I figured I'd start by just simply keeping a DJ for a week or so and then incorporate techniques from there. I'm currently in the Navy and going to nuclear power school so I don't have much time and am usually not able to get the 8 hours or whatever is recommended on the few tutorials I've read so I'm just gonna go with what I've got and hope for the best! Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated since I am also pretty new to forums/blogs as well. On that note hello DV community

Hello, Schnabes! Welcome to DV! If you have any questions, please ask, and I will try to help if I can, and if not, someone else will.

Ah, excellent a question that I do have an answer for!

The Welcome subforum contains some useful links and suggestions on places where to start.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

      Uuuh, a submariner, cool!

Well, the longer you sleep, the better. Simply because towards the morning, our REM is just so much longer than at the beginning of sleep. So we have more quality dreaming time and better chance of getting lucid.

If you have time for a nap, that is great time for a WILD or even DILD, because after all night of sleep, our body knows we just got enough of sleep and skipps NREM and gives you REM pretty much from the moment you fall asleep.

That said, it is very much possible to get Lucid at the beginning of sleep (DILD). My first one was after only about 2 hrs of sleep.

Most important things are your intent - not a wish, but a KNOWING, that you will have a lucid dream tonight, or when you set your mint to. And excitement. And a solid, basic technique.

We recommend to start with DILD, as it will prepare you for a WILD that you will try later.

Good luck and ask if we can help with anything. Happy dreams
