Smile Hello from prolific dreamer in NJ/NY

Hi everyone! I'm a 30-something living in NJ and working in NY. I have been looking for a forum like this for awhile. I am not sure if I am a lucid dreamer or not, but the more I read about it, the more I think I am. I, on average, dream about 2-3 dreams a night - and remember them. Sometimes I dream up to 6 dreams and remember them! I have often been conscious in my dreams and can turn the events in my dreams as I am dreaming them. Sometimes I kind of get in an infinite "loop" where I am in the dream and say "hey I'm dreaming" and I change the course then I don't like it and say "hey I'm dreaming" and you get the idea. I am always able to wake myself up if I don't like the way it's going. I never have the same dream twice, but I do have recurring "themes" in my dreams. I think it'd be neat to "harness" whatever ability I do have and develop it more. Looking forward to share and learn more!

Hello and welcome to DV, Rosilay!

Seems to me like you have great dream recall, which is the first step (IMO) for lucid dreaming! I mean, how can you control your dreams if you don't remember them, right? You also seem to have some awareness and control over your dreams, so yay!!!

I suggest you start a dream journal, as they're very helpful, even if your dream recall is already pretty good. And I also suggest you start a workbook, to share your techniques and experiences. You can do that in our Intro Class subforum. As for techniques, it never hurts to try out new ones and/or read more about the one you're working on, so here's our techniques subforum! Oh, and if you usually have lucid dreams by realising you're in the dream, special mention to gab's reality check thread there!

Finally, dream control is definitely important! It's the most interesting part of lucid dreaming for me... the things we can do in a dream!

Again, welcome to DV and sweet dreams!
