      Howdy Do Everyone!

Hey everyone! My name's Darryn. I'm 28, live just outside Phoenix, Arizona. Been living here for about a year, but my wife, my 1 year old son and myself are looking to move again in the next year or so.. I guess you could say we're a bit nomadic at the moment, just looking for the perfect place, (isn't everyone?) I like the desert, I feel drawn to it. It's sort of a mysterious land, ripe with the unknown, but thriving with life. I can't quite put my finger on why I'm drawn to it, but I like it, it's one of my favorite biomes. My wife hates it lol. Arizona isn't the best place to raise a child though, I'll admit it. The education system is pretty sub-standard.

Basically I joined the site because I'm an aspiring writer of various types of fiction. I've recently started keeping a journal at the side of my bed because I have noticed that my best ideas.. amazing, amazing ideas and inspiration come in the middle of the night when I get woken up by my son, or when I first get up in the morning... either way, the ideas are very fleeting, and as much as I try to remember and recall them when I'm awake, I can't, and I kick myself for letting awesome ideas go. It's very interesting.. the VERY FIRST night I kept the journal beside my bed... I had the first clear, memorable, powerful dream I've had in.... FOREVER. So I got up and started frantically writing it down like a madman, and it's very, very interesting. I thought talking about it more would give me some more insight from other people, and perhaps that might lead to story ideas/development, that sort of thing. I'm extremely interested in dreams and interpretation, lucidity, and the metaphysics of it all, but I'm afraid I'm just inexperienced at it all at this point. Hopefully this will help. Anyway, thanks for having me, and I'll talk to you all soon!

      Hello DLL333! Welcome to Dreamviews!
It's very interesting what dreams can be like. I personally enjoy my dreams a lot(lucid and non lucid), and they are like your own things that fancy you and how you like to see things. Definitely the intention is what made your dream recall better. I would wake up after 4.5 hours of sleep, then after each 90 minutes for the rest of the night to increase my recall. Don't worry if your inexperienced at this point, we all have to start there. Soon you will learn everything you need to learn to make your journey a great one! Be sure to check out the Dreamviews Academy, and hope the moving works out
I fill my heart with fire, with passion, passion for what makes me nostalgic. A unique perspective fuels my fire, makes me discover new passions, more nostalgia. I love it.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

What you have experienced is exactly how it works. If you think about your dreams often, about remembering them and writing them down, you are setting your intent of having and remembering them. And when you put your notebook by your bed, you set your intent to have a dream and remember it too.

We wake up at night between sleep cycles. They are about 90 min long and they end with REM, which is the part in which we have most of our dreams. If you know this, you may start to pay attention to these microawakenings. Most of us, most of the time, we just turn to the other side and keep sleeping. But if you want to remember a dream and write it down, perhaps that's one of the best times to do so.
