      Hello!

Hello everybody! I am not completely new here, as I used to have an accout back in February 013, I believe. Anywho, I forgot the username
I'm going for a lucid tonight! I read somewhere that bananas and apple juice help increase vividness, so I'm eating a banana atm.
Anyways, I'll post the results in my dream journal.
Nice meeting you all (again, maybe.)

      Nice to see you!

I had no idea bananas and apples increased the chances for a lucid dream - I knew about tryptophan, but not this. Mind sharing the article?

      Welcome!
You'll have to eat them before a REM cycle. But they actually hardly help, even if the dream becomes more vivid, the memory would still be impaired:/
I fill my heart with fire, with passion, passion for what makes me nostalgic. A unique perspective fuels my fire, makes me discover new passions, more nostalgia. I love it.

It doesn't increase the chance for lucids, just the vividness, or at least that's what I read. Not sure if this is true, but apparently they have melatonin in them which increases vividness.
Louai, I completely forgot about all the REM cycles and stuff, lol. I'll have to take that into account next time.

yes, maletonin has a short span(maybe 90 min). But it is still helpful for dream recall!
lol I used to eat sunflower seeds during the day and believe I would have more vivid and memorable dreams, and it worked(placebo)

Melatonin has a half life of 45 minutes so you can adjust your dosage to get the length of action you want. If your normal dose lasts 90 minutes and you want a dose to last 135 minutes, take twice as much. 180 minutes? 4 times as much.

High dose melatonin causes REM rebound which supposedly can be very helpful for LDing. I take melatonin once in a while but not enough to be able to say whether I LD more frequently after using it or not.
