      Good morning!

      Good morning all!

I've been trying to lucidly dream since the start of the new year as I had the occasional lucid dream when I was younger and wanted to get back into it. I've been recording all of my dreams in a diary since then and have only become aware of dreaming once; last night, however, I tried the wake-back-to-bed technique and found myself lucid after performing a reality check (pinch nose) successfully. I decided to sign up to this site as I've read a few threads before and look forward to being part of the community; it's also 4.15 AM here and so I'm in the middle of my "waking up" stage for tonight!

      Hey Dave!

I'm new to Dream Views too, I found that the wake-back-to-bed technique was very effective! However it's not the best option for me, because my girlfriend lives with me and she's not to fond of the middle of the night alarms haha.
I was reading a thread that talked about All Day Awareness and I found that when you are doing a RC you are only going to go lucid in dreams you remember to do that, however with ADA your awareness is your RC! Anyway Welcome to the community.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

Yes WBTB can give you better chance for a DILD, and it's essential for WILDs.

And yes, awareness is very important. But so are RCs, mantras, intent, and your mindset. They all go hand in hand. Good luck and ask your questions, if you have any.

      Welcome

Thank you! It's usually the same for me too (wife who is a light sleeper) but she is out of the country for this week and next week so it's my opportunity to try it out :p It seemed to work again this morning, but not quite to the same extent of controlling the dream as last night. I've not heard of the ADA but it makes sense; I presume it's a formalism of the "reality check" of consciously checking if anything is odd or out of place, and interrogating your memory of how you got to that place.

Thanks for the links - I've been reading fairly avidly all of these concepts and slowly integrating them into daily life which is why I have recently had success in lucidity. I've had a couple of cases in January and early February where I realised I was dreaming, but then lapsed straight back into the dream. A bit frustrating when you wake up, but it's a positive sign that you are questioning the reality of the dream and recognising the irrrationality that accompany it.
