      Hello

Hello, I am pretty much a newbie as I have been trying to Lucid Dream maybe for a week. I learned how to go into almost full sleep paralysis ( but takes about 1h to it happen) which ( in my opinion ) almost made me go into Lucid Dream. But I FELT ( it didn't really happen ) my body shaking violently and I got scared and moved myself in the bed, was it working? Well, I hope to get along with everyone.

So far what I have been trying:
1- Get comfortable, normally try this before sleeping and with blankets
2- I leave my body without trying any type of movement or control of it
3- I noticed that if I don't try to think about anything, I simply sleep very fast ( heh )
4- Apparently for me to get sleep paralysis, I need to do (2) for a good time and keep thinking slowly about things and ... I don't know how to explain, but with the eyes closed focus on the "nothing".

Someone had told me sleep paralysis makes easier to Lucid Dream, is it true? Soon I will go sleep and try again.

Hello Leol! Welcome to DV. Your goal isn't to get SP Unless you want it badly and yeah. But try not to focus on SP while trying to WILD, that's if you are trying that. But yeah, don't try to focus on it or anything, just focus on yourself getting into the dream or repeat mantras like "next thing I see, is a dream" Something like that, but if you REALLY really want SP just continue, hope this helps

Well, I won't try SP then since it takes too much time. Lately I have been recalling what I was dreaming a lot with details so I guess that maybe I am advancing somehow :p

SP is something our body initiates after we start dreaming. It's not something we can turn on by ourselves. We are in SP, or more correctly called REM atonia every night, numerous time, every time we dream. It paralyzes our body, so we don't act out our dreams and get hurt or hurt those around us. We don't get SP before we start dreaming, because it would be dangerous not being able to move while still awake.

The sensations you are mentioning - vibrations, or anything else are simply normal sensations that we may experience as we watch our body falling asleep. Body relaxes and shuts down and all kinds of crazy sensations may happen. They happen every time, but we notice them only when we are WILDing and paying attention to the falling asleep proces.

      http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...explained.html

So SP is not a goal, since it's involuntary action. It will happen by itself.

The sensations however may be kind of a mile marker that tell us where we are. Also hypnogogic hallucinations - HH. They are best observed calmly and passively. Which is easier said than done, because they are so exciting.

WILDing before bed is not advised. Simple science. First when we go to sleep, our NREM is about 80 min long. That's hol long you would have to keep your awereness before reaching the REM stage. And first REM is only about 10 min long.

But as we sleep, NREM gets shorter and REM longer. So longer you sleep before your WILD attempt, shorter NREM you will need to go through.

Induction Methods and Techniques - shorter tutorial that can get you started

Tutorials should help you also with falling asleep too fast. Check out the "mantras" in them.

Please ask if any question. Happy dreams

Hi Leol, welcome to DreamViews!! \(^_^)/

      Cool name

I was going to reply and link you to those SP threads but gab beat me to it, and a good thing she did because she said it better than I ever could have.

Good recall is definitely a good sign, every night you're progressing and getting better.

Let me know if you have any questions, whether they be dream related or forum related, I'd be glad to help. I'll see you around the forums!
