      First Lucid with a TWIST

So I had my first lucid a week ago and I was texting my friend and I started to doze off I began to feel like I'm was fliying but flat on my back and I reached my destination a few seconds later but I was in my bed , I was scared so I kept my eyes closed and thought of my body. I started to fly again and I looked to my right and saw my eyes. I reached I geuss real world and I couldn't move my body I was scared but 10 seconds later I woke up . This same situation happened again two days ago but I heard foot banging when I went through sleep paralysis. I don't want to lucid dream it's weird and frightening and I don't want to sleep paralysis again.
P.S WHEN I WENT THROUGH SLEEP PARALYSIS THE FIRST TIME I OPENED MY EYES QUICKLY AND SAW A WHITE FACE IN FRONT OF ME . It's really scary

Lucid dreaming can be wonderful! It ca be a bit scary at first, but that goes away. Keep it up, and you will not be scared for long.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

It sounds like you definitely did experience sleep paralysis, but that's no reason to stop trying to lucid dream. Although it can be scary at times, sleep paralysis is completely harmless.

I would encourage you to read this article, put together by some of the admins, mods, and dream guides of the forum, debunking common misconceptions about sleep paralysis: http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...explained.html

Just a quick summary of the article: Sleep paralysis is caused by REM atonia, which is the body essentially shutting down any unnecessary muscles, basically preventing you from acting out your dreams in real life. It is completely harmless, and actually happens every night - we just don't notice it because we're already asleep. It often plagues those attempting to WILD since they are aware when it happens, causing hallucinations that can be very frightening. However, the important thing to remember is these hallucinations are just dreams themselves, and if you keep a calm head and general awareness, you can use sleep paralysis to transition into a lucid dream.

As for the foot banging, stuff like that is called Hypnagogic Hallucinations (HH). These are auditory and visual hallucinations that can occur as you're falling asleep. They can kind a be a sign that you're getting close to falling asleep, but it's best to just be passively aware of them while still staying focused on your intention of lucid dreaming.
      Sivason and Verre like this.
"Going through life worrying about the little things is like cooking with motor oil instead of cooking oil. Sure, you can still probably pull it off, but it'll leave a bad taste in your mouth in retrospect." - Me, apparently
