That's interesting about the conscious mental visualizations. I always had a really hard time with that myself, and I still struggle even with dreams being visually scrambled and unclear. I suffer from something called "visual snow," not sure if related or not, or if it's something you have too. Anyway, I do have a lot of dreams (lucid and not lucid) that ARE vivid and super clear. Not as often as I would like, but moreso because I decided to devote so much of my time to journaling dreams, practicing lucid dreaming, and this forum in general.
