Post Hey, I'm new to this forum

Nice to meet you all, you can just call me ren. I haven't posted on a forum in about 10 years so I'm a bit rusty. I'm only here to ask about fractionated coconut oil and it's relation to vivid, sometimes lucid dreams. I've discovered this use out of mere coincidence. I bought it to put on my face when I saw a red blemish on it because I heard it's good for treating skin conditions. When I left it on my face without washing it off, I went to sleep. I had one of the most vivid dreams I have ever had in my life. This was about 5 months ago. I woke up extremely groggy. The dream felt like it lasted for hours - it wasn't broken up in to little pieces like most of my dreams. It felt very odd yet amazing. It can't be placebo because I've tried it again and again and get the same results. Sorry if I worded this odd, it's late for me and I am... tired.

I should add that I have had sleep paralysis with this applied to my face.

Hi and welcome to Dream Views. Glad you are here.

Interesting thing you're doing. I think that most things applied topically are not strong enough to affect something internal (such as dreaming) to any noticeable degree (especially with only a small amount applied to the face). I think it's more likely something else going on, or coincidence. Especially if there's nothing on it research wise. But who knows. Thanks for sharing your findings.

I hope you enjoy the forums. Please have a look around. Perhaps you might be interested in our Tasks of the Month and Tasks of the Year group events, or our Lucid Dreaming Book Club.

      See you around!

Hello and welcome! interesting coco experience. In my case I grow my own herbs. lemon grass and lemon balm for vividness, and mug-worth for dream recall are really effective for me.

      Enjoy the journey at DV!

Lemon grass and lemon balm for vividness? I never heard of that. And you grow your own mugwort? Oh my. I would love to do that. My hesitation with mugwort has to do with scientific articles showing it absorbs lead (and other heavy metals) from the soil like no one's business - mainly only a concern if you drink it very frequently though. So, it's tricky because you don't want to buy mugwort from unclean areas, and it does often come from outside the U.S. I'm wondering if growing it myself would be a safer option since I want to drink it daily or almost daily. Hmmmm. Food for thought.

      OK back on topic.

Very interesting. I have used coconut oil internally for dreaming purposes, but it never really did anything. I never thought about applying it to the skin, but that seems like something to try. [Note to self: must try coconut oil applied to face]

So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

I used to do skin creams and soaps as a short-term hobby, using coconut oil a lot (the default cheapest type, not fractionated and not food grade). I don't recall any effects from it.

Indeed moon and once in your yard is very invasive, do not recommend for every day use, even the lemon grass...every human body reacts differently to certain herbs, that's for sure. I agree on the importance of doing research, learn about the side effects, and do your micro-dosing for every herb..What works for some may not work for others. Moderation is very important too.
