      New but old ...

Figured I would pop my head in and say hi. See what's going on and document my lucid dreams somewhere where people might actually comment.

I've been passionate about lucid dreaming since around 2005 or so. Use to be quite active here for a year or two, before a bunch of us left to start a different forum. Which went great for a while but did not realize the longevity we were hoping for. Same for another forum that was started with even more niche LD related topics.

Anyway my main areas of interest above and beyond "lucids are so cool" are dreams and psychic phenomenon (had some crazy beyond chance lucids and non lucids in that space) and lucid dream induction (supps, cranial electro stimulation, etc ...). I use to be able to induce lucids at will. Now they are a bit harder to come by. It's a little more 50/50.

So you're likely to see me around. Looking forward to seeing what's going on in the community. And if you remember me from like 15 years ago, don't hesitate to say hi!

      Welcome back then.

I think the dreaming community on the forum isn't hugely active now compared to years ago, though I always see a lot of guests and a few new users now and then. Although I don't read other people's DJs all the time, I do sometimes like going through them at random and quite like using the DJ feature here myself.

I'm curious, do you miss being able to induce lucidity at will?

Well I would certainly like to get back to the point where I can induce lucids at will. So yes I miss that. There was a time when my professional and family responsibilities were less intense. So I just had a lot more time to focus on LDing. The more you read on the subject and interact with others, the greater the effect on your subconscious, I believe. Plus over time many of the more experienced LDers realize some tolerance to supps like galantamine. Kinda is what it is.

Waking life threw me a string of curveballs in the last 6 years that completely derailed my dreaming practice (or rather, which I allowed to derail it). I'm really wishing I'd stuck through the hard times and kept up my skills. Now, some years down the road, it's harder climbing back on the wagon. I'm hoping that I can find the balance (as Andrew Holecek says, "Not too tight, not too loose") to maintain and grow it from now on!
