hello to all, i am new here and also new to trying to control my dreams.
i had my first LD last night, while dreaming i decided to see if i was dreaming by pushing my fingers into the headboard of my bed. it worked and gave the most wonderful tingeling sensation in my fingers. anyway i got so excited that i must have pulled myself out of deep dreaming and after that everything seemed thin and not real, i knew i was dreaming and it seemed to diminish the dream. is there a good way to stay in that deep dream state so as to make it more real and fulfilling? the rest of the dream seemed to play out as if it was on a small screen inside my head ( i was quite aware of my body in my bed)

      thanks

      Welcome to DV,
about your dream, I also, when I was dreaming it was like real life but as soon as I knew it was a dream, the dream began to fade and I was aware of my body also..

I hope we find a way to control our dreams

there are several differnt methods to control your dreams when they are getting fuzzy. you can try looking at your hands or rubbing your hands together. have you read through all of the info on the front page?

"spinning" works for me real well. if u arent familiar this is how i do it. i close my eyes and spin around in circles concentrating on where i want to be, and it almost always gives more detail to the dream, and is also a good way to change scenery. maybe it'll work for u

What you are describing is pretty common in lucid dreams. Like everyone has already mentioned, there are a lot of little tricks to help solidify the dream and make it more stable. I like to feel the texture of things, and look at an object or scene very carefully.

This tutorial has some good tips:

Congratulations on the lucid dream, though. As you get more, you will be able to experiment more and find out what works for you.

It should get better as you continue. As corny as it sounds, meditation may help. To stay focused and deep in your dreams, one must stay focused and deep while awake. It's almost an attention span thing.

Welcome to Dream Views Neighbor! I'm in Minnesota.

For me it's actually the opposite. Once I get Lucid the vividness usually turns up a few notches, until everything is practically glowing with brilliant vitality.

When my Lucids end it's usually pretty abrupt. I don't have time to do anything about it. But yeah, I hear about a lot of techniques that are supposed to help. Like rubbing hands together and touching things.

Oh, and just looking at your hands is supposed to do wonders as well. That's something I have not played with much though.
