I find it very helpful (especially if you're too busy in the morning), to write a few brief notes as soon as you wake up. If you run thru the dream a couple times in your head during the day aswell, by the time you get home, you should be able to recall it in quite some detail.

Hmm... I generally have to write it down RIGHT after I originally wake up or else it's completely gone. In fact, even then it takes a bit of thought to recall the details although I generally do get them. I find this is hard to do especially while trying to do the DEILD technique.
