      Help with Dream Recall

      Hi, I'm new =)

So, I have problems with trying to remember my dreams. I know I must keep a dream journal, and I do. Even so, I keep on getting days where I can't remember ONE FRAGMENT of ANY dream.

Is there anything else I can do to improve Dream Recall except a journal?

Doing a lot of RCs during the day seems to help people's recall significantly. That's about all I can say on that. I don't really know any other ways of improving recall.

trying different induction techniques also helps. Wake induced lucid dream...Finger induced lucid dream ect. When you focus on things beyond what you're trying to accomplish, it's not so bad to fall short, because you may end up completing you were trying to do in the first place. Not only that, you'll have a chance to fine tune the next step in the process.

Maybe try to wake up after every dream, so you know what you dreamed about the second you wake up.

Tell yourself you will wake up after every dream.

...or drink a lot of water before going to sleep so you'll have to wake up

I used to do that in the past and it did wonders for my recall, but I'm too lazy now.

      Fix'd.

If you can't remember a dream, write down instead how you feel upon waking. Write down any emotions, or strange thoughts you've had. Also, read past journal entries, feel how you felt when you were remembering them.

If you haven't already, try to standardize your sleep schedule. At the very least, try to get up at the same time every morning. It might sound like a hassle (especially on weekends), but this will allow for some glorious recall exploits (such as the ability to set your alarm at the very end of a dream, guaranteeing you remember it!).

Thanks for all the things you've said.

I suppose I'll set an alarm every 90 mins or so now. Drink lots of water. Thanks again everyone =)

I have said this in other posts, but I'll tell ya anyway.

Obviously, sometimes I wake up and I just remember a dream or two, but sometimes I remember 0. When this happens I think about if I had any dreams, even if I think that I won't remember. If I take this seriously, more than likely, I will remember a dream.
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

I have this to, at first you don't remember anything and you say to yourself that you don't remember anything. After a while you might think of something and a dream comes back to you very clear. So even if you think you don't remember anything, keep trying.

Yeah I'm having the same problem, but I think that it's mainly to do with how messed up my sleeping is. The temperature in my room is crazy, my sleeping's out of schedule, and it takes me like an hour to get to sleep , but it'll probably be better once I get to boarding school; I just hope that this site isn't blocked by their stupid blocker >

Anyway yeah one problem for me is that I'm not very suggestable, subliminal messages don't really work on me, takes longer for me to get even phased by someone trying to put me in a trance, and catipleksy (sp?) doesn't work much.
But I'll be lucky if I can remember even one dream a night, so I've been really hoping and are really thankful for everyone who's posted here, I'm sure it'll definitely be helpful, but I wish there was more I could do

Woohoo! I had a DILD and a DEILD one night both for the first time
