This has been discussed on the forum a lot and has had the biggest impact on my dreaming. When you RC during the day, imagine that you are dreaming and expect that result from the RC. It has made me more aware during waking life, making sure that you I am indeed awake. Sounds weird but it makes a huge difference. Now, my RC''s are just confirmations because I know that I am in a dream, since I am more aware.
Also, try to WBTB as many nights that you can. I have nearly all of my LD's near the end of my sleep. Even if your wake time in between is really short, it will make a difference. Recording a dream or two is best because it puts your mind on the subject.
