Ok, so last night I managed to lucid dream on accident. I've read about it about a year ago but never really did the whole reality check and dream diary thing, though I have taken more notice of my dreams and they have been getting more vivid as of late.
Anyway in the dream I was able to jump really high and I guess my dream self decided I might be able to fly too and at first I failed a couple of times and then I suddenly started floating up, and kept rising quite quickly and I didn't know how to slow down and then out of nowhere I ended up in this room and floating. This is at the point where I consciously realized I was in a dream and I was lucid dreaming. I think I got excited though and I ended up losing it and waking up.
Now, this afternoon, I took a nap and managed to do it again. I have no idea how since I wasn't even thinking of doing it but I "got up" and tried out random stuff like touching things and doing a flip, etc. When I tried to take a look at my surroundings though I lose everything again.
So now I think since I just was able to do this by accident my lucid dreaming is probably really unstable. I am not able to percieve my surroundings very clearly and so far the only thing I am able to do is control my movement. I am also aware of my real self and could hear myself breathing, is that normal?
Sorry if it's quite long, I just figured you might want the background story. Am I fully lucid dreaming and am I doing it correctly? What can I do to make it better and not fall out of it so easily? Also any other information you think might be helpful would be great too. ^^
That said, it was quite a nice experience and I'm looking forward to better results.
Edit: Also both times it was very near to when I've just fallen asleep, like within a half hour if that matters any.
