      Smile Hi, im new

I am new here and have lucid dreams quite often and am very used to them. I wonder why some people have them normally and some people don't. I also sometime have trouble getting out of my lucid dreams, I think I am out but I'm not - is this usual.

Hello Jen, and welcome to Dreamviews! I agree it is strange that some seem to be naturals when it comes to lucid dreaming and others can struggle mightily. I definately believe that everyone has the ability, but some already have the mindset while others must develop the appropriate mindset. It sounds like you have false awakenings often. Many people experience false awakenings with regularity. Trying to wake yourself up can actually induce a false awakening. I have had it happen to me several times in the passed. Well good luck to you and enjoy your stay!

On a side note to all of dreamviews......Could this be Jeff's soul mate???

Yosh, I was wondering exactly the same thing. Jen, your user name threw me for a serious loop. I thought you were Jeff, the moderator. When I saw that you had posted in a thread I was subscribed to, I immediately thought, "Oh, great, what did I do now?"

Ah, it's all good. Enjoy your stay, and good luck!

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

Seriously I did a double take at your name in the chat. I was like "waitaminute, what's going on here!"

It sounds like you are a natural lucid dreamer. The short answer is, we don't really know what makes some people have lucids so naturally while others don't.

Sorry to all for the confusion, I just made the Jen777 up, not knowing there was someone else out there with a 777. (I see what you mean by Jeff's soulmate now, I was a bit confused myself there for a while). Thank you for your posts and kind welcomes.

Jen, I often liken lucid dreaming to any other talent.

Some people are born piano players and don't need much (if any in some cases!) formal training to reproduce classical music.

And yet you could sit another person down at a piano, they must take 10 years of persistent training to reproduce the same music as the naturally gifted.

Everyone can play a piano, just some people need to work harder at it
