This seems to be a back and forth debate with perplexing responses and intriguing analogy's(though somewhat bias but nonetheless intriguing). It's really "music" to my ears. Carry on.

You have a bad habit of doing this, Xei. You ask me a question, and I give you an answer, and then you dislike the answer, and so you always say "You didn't answer the question.".

My keyboard is wasted on you, because you pay no heed to what I say.

You, sir, have been spontaneously trolling me for almost as long as I can remember. It takes time to write this stuff, think it over, proofread it, and correct it, and you just ignore it/trash it/ don't read it. There are some mature debaters in here. Universal Mind, Spockman, MrBlonde, and Mario92 are good examples. You are not one of them.

I will have to agree with this, to an extent.

Music doesn't have to sound like it has structure, as long as it truly does accomplish one of those things. But I have not heard a piece yet that seemed to lack structure, and truly strike me with emotion. But, if theoretically one could do that, I would find it intriquing.

Well, no, not really. I mean, it isn't something that I mourn over. It's more of an observation than anything else. But, it does truly sadden me, and I truly do think that music is headed in a bad direction. As I have said before several times in this thread, music may not be "doomed", but from what I can see, it isn't going in a good direction.

Threads are for discussion. I made the thread to see other people's opinions on the topic. I am not "trolling".

Okay, well, that's your view on things. You can do one of two things:

1.Believe it, ignore this thread, get on with life, and let us be.
2.Realize that some people have different opinions on things, and try to show them why you have yours.

What you are basically saying is:

"You're a troll, and my opinion is better than yours. Take it or leave it."

      That's a pretty immature approach.
You're a troll, and my opinion is better than yours. Take it or leave it.

No, it was not. And, if it was, then there was no reason why I should have known.

      Why?

Because, firstly, he did not respond to anything specifically. I made a whole post, and then, he suddenly made that little remark out of the blue. How was I to know what it was directed at?

Secondly, there is nothing about that phrase that suggests "Where do you hear modern music from?". The phrase's literal meaning is far from it.

This is not a colorful way of asking me where I hear modern music (a question I have answered now more than once). It's just a sick rhetorical question that was made to insult my post, and then the intention of that post was made to seem more honorable later on.

And, Xei, if that post was made with the actual intent of asking me where I hear modern music, I recommend you do one of two things next time.

      1. Ask me where I hear modern music.
2.Look back to the last time the question was asked.

Vulgarity is neither a necessary part of language, nor was it needed to convey the point. I don't even need to debate this. If you can't make a point without resorting to offensive language, then it is a testament to your communicative disability, not your artistic ability to render colorful questions.

I need to leave Dreamviews soon.

I'm going to stick around in this thread for a little while longer, so you won't think I'm jumping ship. But, soon, I need to leave. I just really need a break from this place.

Which may or may not be permanent.

But, like I said. I don't want to look like I'm jumping ship, so I'll be in this thread for a little bit longer.

Ah. I see. Well, I hope you return at any rate unless DV is not a positive thing for you. In which case I hope you don't if you are more fulfilled when not a member here. For your sake, anyway. When will you take your exit, do you think? When this thread runs it's course and ends?

The majority of Noogah's threads end up with him either requesting that they are locked, or saying that he'll leave. I can't help but feel that we repeatedly reach the brink of penetrating his bubble, only for him to retreat.

Maybe I'm a nerd, but I've always been fond of video game music.

      Back on topic:
That 4:30 minutes of silence is just stupid, and only an arrogant tosser would even dare to do that. Nonetheless, the rise of Indie music due to the introduction of the Internet gives me hope that music will get better as Indie artists become more popular. I love that stuff.
I don't usually think, therefore I mostly am not.

I really like listening to chill out type music when I am doing homework or something. It makes me happy and relaxed and sets the right mood for homework. It also happens to be very modern.

I found this the other day:

I say if it makes you feel emotion or alters your mood in a positive or desirable way, it is good music.

If you were being glib and superficial. Yes.

Picked up Thomas Mann's Death in Venice once again tonight. An ageing artist becomes infatuated with a young Polish boy but only through observation and - mostly - idealisation of his classical beauty. It's like the anti-Platonic, love for the artificial construct rather than the Platonic ideal within. The best bit was the artist justifying it as being the sun giving divine form and beauty to spirits which are beautiful. Silly him.

Out of interest. If you haven't left forever. Have you ever been in love, Noogah? Or had a relationship with a girl - or boy, à la Samuel's David and Jonathan - of any description? Even unrequited.

I'm just. Curious. Limerence is hard to judge from the outside.

EDIT: ...wait, this isn't the Platonic love thread. Fuck, these Noogah-causes-an-argument threads all seem the same to me. :/

Search the forums, my friend. Search up and down. Search high and low. Browse through all my posts if you wish. Only once will you find that I suggested I was leaving the forums permanently, and that was when Jeff777 was booting me from off topic when we had a rule against juniors. I thought I was getting kicked from the forums. When the rule was down, I came back, and soon after said I'd leave the R/S permanently.
      I've never been back.

I have my threads locked when things get out of hand, or the thread runs its course.

Well, the whole point of my Platonic Love thread was to point out that people's perception of love has been greatly cheapened. Of course, I've had general crushes and such in the past, but I don't consider that "love" in it's strong sense. Not even unrequited.

An as to an actual relationship romantically, or a la David and Jonathan, no. I have not. I'm somewhat of an introvert.

Now, since there seems to be no more discussion of the topic, I suppose I'll be off now. I doubt it will be permanently, but possibly.

I can still be contacted at [email protected] until then.

      Goodbye!

That's not the point the point is theres similarities between what you said and drugs. Though they are different in many ways they still have similarities and I was just pointing that out. Besides Music and Drugs have been hand and hand with many great artists.
