      My Internet / multimedia lounge. My Ubuntu Linux station is on the left, the crappy Windoze box is on the right and the dual-quad Xeon server on top is a file server and a cluster node for my Linux box. The new switch will supply a dual dedicated 10GBase-T link between the Linux box and server once I figure out how to put on those damn Cat-7A Tera connectors - Ugh. This will make media transcoding and rendering a breeze!

      Here's the other half of my multimedia room. My other turntable is on the bench getting some repairs to the platen motor. I'm washing down some of my favorite drum-n-bass with some cold beer. Yay!

      Haha, why do you have such outrageously large loudspeakers for such a tiny room when you could opt for some nice monitors. They'd sound way better in there. Either way, I dig the mackie board you got there on the right (I think I'm recognizing that right).

      They sound just fine - far better than any home stereo speakers and they have more bass than those little monitors. Also, the price was right - free. Yes, that is a Mackie board. I like it better than any of my other boards that I've had over the years. It has survived 12 years of road abuse so far and still works perfect.

      Ya man, those mackie boards are built like beasts. I traveled with one for a couple years (and it was already quite old) and it went through so much shit, never stopped working like a charm. I wasn't thinking home stereo speaks, I was thinking some nice, bigger but not fucking huge monitors.

      Of course more reasonably priced, the Yamaha HS-70m with the woofer sounds pretty tasty too.
