I got a new (used) car. That's kind of a rave I guess, but I really didn't want to get it. I did want to get a newer car soon, but I was thinking like another year or two from now. |

You might want to look into a yearly Fluid Film coating if you don't already do so, sefalik. It's supposed to prevent rust from forming. I haven't used it over a winter though. |

497 is insane! The highest I've seen is 320, same with my dad who's been a doctor for 40 years or something. |

Auto detailing's coming out nicely. Clay barring the trunk lid's taking a while though with all of (what I'm guessing is) bike tire rubber embedded in the finish. We were strapping a Terra Trike to the trunk for a while which I initially didn't think anything against since the finish was already dinged up but I'm also wondering how many more dings we put on the finish by doing this. |

Had my 'new' car for not even a full month... and a doe ran into me this morning on my way to work. There were two, and I thought for sure I was going to hit the first one head-on, but luckily I stopped quickly enough. However the second deer didn't stop so quickly, and she ran straight into the side of the car. Left a nice dent in both of the passenger side doors. See, nice things and me just don't mix. |

Hm, maybe try pulling it out with a block of wood and glue. Not kidding, it may not be perfect but I did that on a Caravan after Dad pointed it out. I think we used hot glue on the wood then let it bond to the not waxed finish then once it was stable we pulled the dent out and after that simply heated the glue again and the wood came right off. Or you could just take the door panels off and work from there. If done too hastily though I imagine it may be stressful but maybe not. I tried putting a new window track in my Suburban and that didn't go so well when I was rushing it too much, ugh. I didn't break anything except for overheating my brain, so to speak. |

All this clay-barring the teeny specks of dirt out of the trunk lid's making me into a better drawing person with more patience. Well OK, it's not just that; I'm also reading books called "The Power of Now" and "The Happiness Advantage" and I just plain feel not only motivated but as though I'm actually involved with what I'm up to. Mom also got a car from Pap's estate so I'll be working on changing the fluids and filters in it soon too, once they arrive. Still haven't bought the Fluid Film but I better before winter, these winters in Pennsylvania are NOT easy on cars without protection. |

If you think winters are rough on cars in PA. Come up the road a piece to NY. |

I went to work today and I forgot my car keys inside the car, it was open the entire time hopefully I didn't lost anything, I would really be pissed of a lot more if i did. |

I'm a Pennsylvanian myself. I can attest to extremely over-salted roads. Some storms, I think we got more salt than snow. But I never had much issue with rust myself. My dad's 2008(?) Silverado is too rusted to pass inspection. I like it up in Vermont the times I've been up there. They basically just plowed enough so that you could tell where the road was. |
|
Just dreamed I sprayed Fluid Film on people and they died. The heck? One of them was Gomer Pyle, regrettably. The thing is they turned into the Fluid Film. Maybe the meaning's not literal but it did bum me out when I was dreaming; then again I get the feeling it's not to be taken quite as literally as that. I can imagine it saying it's putting rust repair shops out of work so maybe that's the point? |
|
Why can't I ever fuckin get ahead? It seems like any time that things are looking up the universe throws me as many obstacles as possible, and not ones that can be powered through. Finally I have a job that I'm good at, delievery driving. And my power steering pressure hose blows wide open and leaks every last drop onto my exhaust pipe. Hoping I can replace it before the pump seizes or I'm REALLY fucked |

Lol, not sure what that means. It's from Fight Club. My penis is still in tact, although I get laid the same amount as I would if it was cut off. |

I'm being an idiot today; the Lincoln grease gun didn't work. First I pushed the handle in and it wasn't holding a seal and then grease got behind the seal. That's NOT supposed to happen, I then pulled the T handle end off and all the grease was BEHIND the seal. So what did I do? Got pissed like numbskulls do and put the handle back on then pulled the handle out and got grease all over the floor and me, wasting a $8 tube of grease. The heck is it with Lincoln that the seal broke only after one use? It's not like it's a $5 gun either, I paid $40 or more for this thing. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I put a grease tube in backwards the first time like an idiot though. |
