My world has been crumbling recently due to a number of factors, but for the first time in a few weeks I'm feeling generally good. I brushed my teeth this morning (the water is out at the moment), had some coffee, checked on my books for next semester. Things are somewhat looking up.

I'm in a very good mood today because I got to hold a wild yellow bird. It bit me at first, but it didn't really hurt. I heard chicks crying so I started looking everywhere for them. I climbed the tree but there were huge spiders and spiderwebs all over it and I couldn't see any baby birds. Finally, I lifted up the ground beneath the tree to search its roots. The baby birds weren't there either, and then the mom vanished and I woke up
Even though it was a dream, it was an especially nice and vivid dream that set my mood for the day

      **Edit**
I FINALLY moved the glass cabinet into my bedroom. Of course, the rest of my bedroom is now utterly trashed, but hey, the worst is now over
And I'm about to go get some food. All I've had today is trail mix and banana chips.

When I read "and I woke up" I was totally confused because my brain froze and I couldn't comprehend it was a dream for like 5 seconds. Hahaha.

hehee I'm glad I was able to temporarily stump at least one person

Other joyful news: Tiny gave birth to 6 kittens on Monday morning... and I had a couple interesting experiences at Walmart.
Last week, I went to Wally World at about 3AM. When I came out, a truck was parked a space over from me. A woman was in the truck and she asked about my dog, and I told her, yes, it was a Chihuahua. She then told me she knew where I got her. I sort of teasingly asked her (a complete stranger) "Yeah, where's that?" Then she gave me the name of the family I got Cocoa from. "Wow. You're right!" So we talked for a couple minutes, then I went home.

Last night, I went to Walmart at around 1:30 AM. When I came out, the same truck was in the same place. Only there was a car on the other side of her. There was a man in the car and another man in the truck. She started telling the men that I was the person she told them about. We laughed and talked about the dog some. I made introductions and the guy in the car said: "I just know her as Zee's mom" (My youngest daughters nickname.) Then he said: "I'm just glad *someone* is taking care of her [the dog]."

Seems Cocoa had 3 owners before she found me. Because he was most familiar with the dog, I asked him her age. He said one person said 5 years but he thought it was more like 3. Which is what I've been telling my daughter all along.

Our town is small, but not THAT small.

That was perfectly good bud gone to waste. I don't know whether or not the supposed binaural beats/isochronic tones used in that audio really do affect you in any way, but the marijuana induced paranoia certainly didn't help and that instrumental creeped me out like you wouldn't beleive. It was probably just the power of suggestion doing it's work but damn it get me going. I was listening to it, thoroughly enjoying it, and then that really high pitched whine came in and I heard a noise outside and then I just lost it. The multiple mirrors in the room didn't help matters either. I ran into the kitchen and grabbed my phone off the counter and a bottle of Coke from the fridge (not sure why, to be honest). Then I called a friend and told her about it while I clutched the bottle of Coke and did RCs.

I always get jumpy when I smoke alone, I should just stick with social sessions when I have someone else around. I should probably avoid reading creepypasta myths I find on the internet as well.

Anyways, I'm going to listen to it again tomorrow and see if I get another headache. :]
That sounds like something I would do while I'm high

As I got up this morning afternoon, I didn't want to write down my dreams in my dream journal because I didn't have the energy nor care, but I figured I'd better do it if I want to have awesome lucid dreams, and I don't have to write down a whole tiny novel, just a one sentence bulletin if I have to, so I begrudgingly did it. At first I thought I had only one, maybe two dreams to write down, but as I started, a whole bunch of others came to mind that I had forgotten about, including one REALLY awesome experience of floating/flying really high every time I jumped around the neighborhood. That was bliss. Eventually I wrote about 4 or 5 pages, and recalled 11 highly detailed dreams from my long sleep. BOOYAH! Determination FTW.

Had a lucid last night. Second longest one yet, at roughly 15 secs. All my lucids have ended when I've tried to look around more than to directly what's ahead of me, with the exception of one.

Guess I should be happy for progress. But also sad because I've not had the chance to do anything proper yet.

I haven't posted much since I joined in 2008 until this year. I decided to make dream journaling on DV a routine several months back and so I started posting on the forums as well.

2 things have made me happy these last couple of days:

There's a Wal-mart greeter who rarely ever smiles. It seems as if he's guarding the store more than greeting people. But I've always nodded, smiled, said my how-do-you-do's. The other night I was finally rewarded. There was a tiny kid being carried in front of me. He was maybe 8 months old and absolutely adorable, so I smiled and made wide eyes at him, completely ignoring the greeter. Then his words caught my attention as he told me it's always a pleasure to smile me smiling

The other thing is my 18 year old who is basically in solitary confinement out in the middle of nowhere. I bring him supplies once a week and stay and chat for a time. He's so deprived of contact that every story I tell gets belly-laughter from him It helps that I'm so darn good at imitating out cats He was "crying" during one story about the stray Zee (daughter) brought home. It's a funny cat: calico, with huge eyes and small, bent ears. So I imitated the appearance first.
Before we got the cat, she had been in a fight and has a wound under one ear. Whenever she scratches anywhere on her face, it hurts her wound so she does a weird hitching meow and spittle flies everywhere. And I duplicated it perfectly which sent my son into hysterics.

I know it *shouldn't* be funny, but it is. I've doctored the wound and it's almost healed.

Oh yeah, I'm also smiling because I listened to the silly Duck Song in another thread
