I feel REALLY evil for being happy right now, but I just learned an especially vicious DHHR worker had her kids taken away from her for neglect. It couldn't have happened to a "nicer" person. I just feel sorry for her kids I do NOT feel sorry for the mom

      I just took a 4 hour nap

I simply am tonight. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I've got this stuck in my head.

Not that I need a reason...

I saw my half-brother for the first time since 2006. I swear he got taller. He's about 6'3" now I'm sure.

It's been storming nicely here too so I'm definitely happy about that.

Today's my hubby's birthday so his daughter came home from college (about 2 hours away) to take he and I out to lunch. We went to one place, but they stopped serving brunch at the end of last month. So we stood around, trying to think of another place to go locally and finally tried a little bed and breakfast that also has a small restaurant. It was delicious. For brunch, they have a buffet. It was old-time Southern style food for the most part: breaded and baked chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, Confederate bean soup, slices of steak that tasted as if it was slow cooked in a crock pot, spiced pumpkin bread (or banana bread which is what my step-daughter was sure it was; but she's crazy :p ) with home-made cream.
They also had biscuits and gravy and burritos but I didn't try those.

      Mmm, mmm, mmm!

I tried to go to sleep a couple hours ago but my dog had me laughing so hard I eventually gave up. I was laying on my side with one arm covering my face to block her kisses, but she kept getting through. Then I turned to the other side, pulled my blankets closer and I was almost asleep until she started using my back as a scratching post It almost felt like a back massage and I laughed hard about the absurdity of the whole scene.

I've also been eating Boston Creme Cake since yesterday. I was given half of the cake and I've nearly finished my portion

Haha this thread is awesome. I guess people aren't used to looking on the bright side because it can be so hard. Props to you SolarFlare for helping remind us of what makes us happy!

I'm happy I have friends and family who are there to support me.

      Awesome....
I was sitting at my desk, eating a snack and watching Hulu when my birds went crazy. Usually only the female will flap her wings and carry on for a few seconds, but this time the male joined her. I turned around to look at them and they were totally panicked. Then I felt my modular home rock a couple times. My dog ran in from the living room to yell at the birds and that was that.
I wondered if another branch fell on our house but I hadn't heard anything. Then I wondered if the workers backed one of their vehicles into my home. But then I noticed the boys (dogs) outside weren't making any noise.
I went outside to check anyhow and all was quiet. I decided to finally leave to have my car inspected.

As I drove, I wondered if I'm truly going crazy from new meds or sleep deprivation. I concluded that my inner ear must be causing some degree of unbalance.

I stopped at the Dollar Tree for some socks and guess what the topic of conversation was....

The rocking I felt was actually an earthquake. In central WV!! Everyone said they thought they were going crazy lol. Someone else said it was an aftershock felt from an earthquake from a nearby town. Another person said the aftershock came from Washington (DC?) So I'm now going to go see what the almighty Google has to say on the subject.

I get my car inspected tomorrow at 1PM. I'm glad my boys have a lifetime supply of Peas, Corn and Ramen up at the Farm because I can't go anywhere (through town) until after the inspection.

haha, we had two small Earthquakes here in the past year and a half or something. The first one I was like "wtf was that?" I thought I may have just hallucinated it. Later I realised it was an Earthquake too.

The second time it felt a little bit different and I felt it a few times throughout the night and tried to rationally explain it, like maybe my arteries in my ass/legs were doing that weird pulsing thing. I knew I was lying to myself but it's better than admitting I was going crazy lol

So yeah I know how you felt lol

lol, it's quite the novel experience. It'll be the talk of the town, I'm sure, for weeks to come (if not longer )

I just returned from the mechanics who told me my car would not pass inspection. I was feeling kind of grumbly about it, walked onto my porch and saw Tiny took 2 huge runny craps in some leaves on the porch near the door. I started feeling even more grumbly, but as I turned to look at her, I caught sight of something on a window to the house.

It was the biggest preying (praying?) mantis I've ever seen. So I took several pics with my DSi. Most turned out crappy, but one's decent: Facebook Every time I wasn't expecting it, she turned and looked at me. When I'd get my camera ready, she'd look the other way lol. I was completely captivated and was shocked I spent 25 minutes sitting on the porch railing, trying to get the perfect shot. It's times like these that I REALLY wished my Cannon worked!

I saw a dragonfly once on this bush in my backyard and it looked at the camera/me when I took pictures lol

Grrrr... I'll have to upload it to the picture site then later.
I wish the preying mantis cooperated like your dragonfly. Sounds like you got some great pictures!!

I'm happy today because I got a LOT of sleep.. sort of. I still woke up every 3 hours or so and most of the time I was awake for at least an hour, so it was still a bit annoying too.
I got to the Farm last night. My son said he WOULD yell at me but he was just so darn glad to have some food that he was too happy to be mad They could have made it 2 more days with what I saw in the cabinet. It just wasn't their favorite things to eat.
Then I watched some Chris Rock movie about him running for President. It was cute I made it home at around 2AM

I'm also glad because the State Trooper was too busy to notice and/or care about me when I was passed this morning while driving to Wendy's. I stuck to the back roads until I had to cross a main street to get to the restaurant. Then I got stuck in traffic again before a final turn and THAT'S when he passed me. He had a perfect view of my sticker.

I need to get my bike out and go riding more often. I used to ride all the time... commuted to work by bike and everywhere for that matter. Yeah, riding is awesome... it's sort of like gliding in a dream. And I love that you're not enclosed in a metal plastic and glass box, forced into the traffic streams and subject to road rage.

I've been playing a lot of Everquest 2 lately. My main character is level 82 but they have a system where you can mentor down to a lower level to help others or do quests you missed. You get to keep all your moves and improved armor and weapons though.
I mentored down to level 30 and was insistent about beating a heroic boss. Level 37, three stared epic heroic boss. He kicked my butt about 4 times, but I finally beat him this morning I had to pull out all the stops though and used deity blessings and everything lol.
Sadly, that makes me VERY happy

      **EDIT**
I also obtained my first Slayer title for having killed a total of 2,500 skeletons

Keeping this dog was the best decision I've made in a very long time. I can't remember having so many frequent bouts of genuine, body shaking laughter.
Last night, my eyes were much bigger than my belly. I bought a double Jr. Bacon Cheese burger and a large fries from Wendy's. But the fries tasted off to me so I gave them to a friend. Then I stopped at Arby's and bought a large french fries and an onion rings.
I ate everything except the sandwich. This morning, I gave it to the dog and she devoured it: lettuce, bread, tomatoes, everything. But then, for some strange reason, she decided to pick up a couple dried out hand wipes (which I soak in rubbing alcohol) that were near my bed and she started eating those too!! I took them from her and threw them away, but both my daughter and I were laughing so hard from her antics.
Now she has a tummy ache and has been eating grass outside.

I seriously need to put my pooch on a diet.
If she keeps up eating weird things, though, I'm going to have to take her to the vet.

      flowers shall grow
      and I am in them
      and that is eternity.
