Thread: Post if you're happy or cheerful

Today it's been 10 years since hubby and I married. We've been together, though, since the summer of 1998... 12 years. Wow
I reminded him ahead of time. We ALWAYS forget our Anniversary. This is the first year we've ever specifically done anything. We went to the Outback We ate Coconut Shrimp, 2 orders of bread, Potato Soup for me, a Salad for him and we were stuffed. So I brought my Ribeye and most of his Fillet home with me lol. It'll serve as both breakfast and lunch for me tomorrow.
We had a good time, though there were too many lapses of awkward silences.

For me October marked 10 years since I got my 1st computer (a hand-me-down from my sister when she upgraded) and got on the internet. It was a bittersweet time - it was so awesome to be on the net, but it was immediately after 9-11 and I was pretty well in shock over that.

I finally got my new graphics tablet (Hanvon SeNTIP 1201WD) and it is really awesome. The next days I will be able to put some time into drawing stuff. And I can't even wait to see my girlfriend do her magic on that tablet
Not to mention I'm finally free after 24 hours of head-movement restricting pain. And tomorrow might just be the first day in some while where I can sleep for as long as I want. I don't get to say this often, but I'm really darn happy right now

Just got my telescope two days ago for my birthday, picked it up the day before my birthday though lol It's HUGE! 8" aperture.
But it was completely cloudy over the entire sky, so last night on my actual birthday I went out after work and THANKFULLY there was some clear skies.
Got an amazing look at the moon! I was shocked with how clear and big it was!
I really just freeballed it and I found some awesome stars, as well as Jupiter (I think lol) the guy in the shop I bought it off said "She graces our skies this time of year and you can see her 4 moons"
hehe, pretty funny guy. And yeah I'm pretty sure I saw "her" 4 moons. They were surprisingly bright! And Callisto was really far away from it, which I didn't expect!

I also thought I saw a quasar or something spinning (yeah I'm a total noob) I quickly realised my mistake though, it was just an artifact from being out of focus lol, sort of created two stars instead of just blurriness like you would expect.

8" Dobsonians are about probably $350. $500 in Australia though lol
But it's really not much.

Yeah, I definitely plan to eventually when my funds aren't so limited. I'm about an hour away from the darkest place this side of the U.S, even Canada I think, but don't have a car yet to get to it

Nice, I would definitely like to have a telescope as well. But I can't really spare that much more money with it when neither I nor my girlfriend can make money with it, not to mention I can't even properly see the stars in the darn city I am. I'm a little bit jelly. But one day I'll surely get myself a nice telescope as well. Stars and space in general are one of the most beautiful things I know. That seems to be a pretty expensive tablet as well. I paid some 550€ for mine which is quite a bit, but it has pretty much everything, and the big advantage is that due to the screen you can directly see what you do. Also you don't have to rebuy the pen nibs, that sounds pretty nasty. It's a bit too expensive to buy just to have some fun though, I'm planning on doing some serious stuff with this tablet together with my girlfriend. Doesn't mean that's not going to make fun though
When I first came to the thought of getting me a tablet I thought about a Wacom as well, a Cintiq. But it doesn't have a lot of advantages compared with the SeNTIP, yet it is nearly twice as expensive. After testing my tablet a bit I can say though that I'm fairly satisfied.

There is also this one (not by google) but still cool. You can move things around and pieces of the page fly everywhere. Also, try search something and more result pieces will fall.

I googled TILT and didn't get anything interesting. Except I accidentally typed 'tit' at first. It's just some poker expression.

I've known about the snake one.

One thing I know of is, google the word 'recursion'. Make sure you know what the word means first. And you might want to use google to find its definition if you don't already know.

EDIT: OH WAIT HOLY SHIT, I finally got the TILT one. Why didn't I notice that before!?

I think my Dad's high. I can tell when he isn't sober but I know he isn't drunk so the only possible explanation I can think of is that he's fried. He just got back from work and he took like 10 minutes to get his shoes off and thrn we got upstairs, he just stood there and zoned out for 5. He's standing there in the hallway right now, not doing anything at all. If he's been smoking marijuana, that's fine; it'll do him some good mentally and it'll make his chronic back pain bearable so he won't be so grouchy all the time.

I just hope it isn't doda (opium tea) though, that's pretty popular down here and a few of my uncles are into it so it's a possibility, especially since they work with my Dad. Last night it smelled of marijuana in my driveway though so I'm pretty sure he's just been smoking. Anyway, I've got something on my Dad so if he finds my stash, I can always mention this too him and be let off easy. Hopefully.

My friend's dad in IRL I know smokes marijuana recreationally. It's kind of funny because he is a successful business man who owns some tech company and he just smokes it like its nothing on the roof of the building or outside of it. He isn't very politically correct.

Exactly, there some incredibly intelligent people who actually smoke weed. Mainstream media just portrays everyone that smokes weed as high school drop-out hippies.

Despite the circumstances, I'm actually happy for once. And not thanks to alcohol for once! I'm enjoying the little things, and it seems to be working.
