But he isn't even using the other account...

Honestly, the way the staff enforces that rule is fucking retarded. If someone isn't abusing the multiple accounts, then why does it matter? The staff should have contacted him via PM and asked him which account he wants to keep, and then banned the other one. Or banned this one, but left the original. But banning both of them...?

Maybe he forgot the password to his old account. Maybe he wasn't aware that he could have his name changed. Or maybe he wasn't aware of the multiple account rule (not many are). At the very least, the staff should have contacted him instead of just being lazy.

I can't tell you what he said (even if I knew which I don't) but as I understand it he still has access through his original account.

Perhaps he's around here somewhere.

Soulnote seems to be banned as well, pretty sure that was his main. All his friends and everything were on there, and the name he wanted is on this account. Unless he chose to keep his oldest account, I don't see why he should have to use that one instead of one the newer ones.

Sorry if I'm being abrasive or pushy, this thing just annoys me. From what I remember ilovefruitloops (spelling?) was banned for having multiple accounts. He had just returned to DV after a really long time and had to make a new account because he forgot his old password. Eventually he found it, and made a post about it. The way I remember it, he ended up being banned on both accounts and he never came back to DV after that.

I know it seems problematic for some. It's okay to be annoyed by the situation. I'm not bothered in any way by your questions.

People who forget their passwords need not create a new account. They can always post in Meta Forum without an account. I looked to make sure.

I had to look back in my private messages list but there it is. The rules are pretty clear. I know not everyone will read that but it is sent to them. (Need to work on updating it)

The forum rules are not perfect for every case or individual.

I've even updated the message that is sent out. Hope they implement it.

If they did ban his other accounts its probably only a temporary ban. Thats how alts are normally handled. But this situation might be different.

He created the alts for legitimate reasons, which we are working out what accounts are to be banned (he will still be here!). He's just going to get a username change and problem solved. There was just a little miscommunication.
No reason for you kin folk to get your knickers in a twist.
Sometimes alts are completely unnecessary and are just created out of sheer ignorance, which is okay. Then there's members who just want to be annoying and create alts which is stupid. Alts are just generally unneeded and the reasons can be solved in other ways (e.g. by changing your username). We are usually compliant, if a user makes an account because they forgot the login or whatever; one of the accounts gets banned and they are able to use the other, then we carry on with our dandy lives.

P.S. ilovefruitloops was still around, his alt was just deleted bujt he still had access on the other account.
