      Hallucinations without any external substances

Today at school I experienced mild and short visual hallucinations. It was like a speck of lights or very small sticks were floating fast around my field of vision. It was open-eyed and shocking. I have never experienced anything like that before. I was just standing there and looking at it completely shocked and confused.

I have heard when people who I know well experience powerful self-exploration hallucinations while listening to very well performed music. But I wasn't listening to anything at time. Maybe there is a link with sleep deprivation? This week I slept for 7 hours a night for five or so nights. So I lost about 10 hours of good sleep.

Has anybody experienced something similar or more profound hallucinations without any external substances?

It sounds similar to what I experienced before. However it's not possible to say for sure. I heard it also could be a sign of high blood pressure, dehydration or a migraine.

It may have been this. It lasted no more than 10 seconds and was very vivid and it had a bright color.

i remember getting only 3-5 hours of sleep a lot last year, and nope, no hallucinations AT ALL, nothing even close. i'm pretty sure that happened because of something else.
i'm pretty sure i'm wrong though

No. I looked at opposite side of the windows.

And the strangest thing was that there was no dizziness. I felt fine during and after that. I would think it was a natural thing. Maybe some chemicals in my brain just started working at that time for unknown reasons.

Those lights are not really hallucinations. There are some scientific explanations, like they call them floaters which may vary in intensity. There may be other spiritual explanations, but this is very subjective, so won't go into this.

Among the things I have experienced during my lifetime

      - sparks of light, just one or two like distant stars that take a second and then disappear, this when I was younger
      - what you are describing, I get a lot when I move my eyes too much to the corners, it is really beautiful, but usual disappears when I begin to follow them, I compare them to liquid light
      - HI lights I get when relaxed when going to bed or even watching TV
      - Spots of HI light, these sometimes emerge in one of my eyes during the day

no special conditions needed for these, but sleep derivation, hunger, and stress can cause even more profound effects. Regard this as a little gem you found, no need to be worried unless you begin seeing things that are not there all the time, that would be reason for concern. Lights, people experience at least once in a very long while.

I get the hallucinations you described every so often (maybe once every couple weeks), and I've heard of others getting them too. I'd describe them as specks of light, maybe 30 or so at a time, moving across my vision, like little fireflies. It will normally last for about 10 seconds.

I don't think it's anything to worry about. When it happens to me, it often goes together with light-headedness from standing up after sitting or lying down for a while, or just general confusion, like if the object of my attention quickly changes. Not every time I do these things of course, just very occasionally. Maybe it results from not drinking enough water or something, since it happens to me while light headed, and that seems to be caused by water deprivation.

Floaters can be nothing or they can signal something more severe. If they change, go to an eye doctor immediately as you may have retinal tearing which needs to be addressed before it becomes a detachment.

I get that exact symptom about 20 minutes before every migraine. That's how I know when to start poppin pills.

No. It wasn't like this. They looked solid and non-transparent.

I once got other visual phenomenon before a migraine or something similar like lack of peripheral vision. But migraine happened to me just once during my whole life.

Thank you guys for replays. I won't have to worry much about this.
