      Having a hard time

I'm having a hard time jumping into this community. :/ I've been browsing the forums thinking about questions to ask, but then finding a thread already started about it. Or looking for places to just start a conversation, but its hard. -.- So I'm going to post here and let you guys come to me.

In my reintroduction thread "phased" said he'd explained what has changed in the dream scene in the past three years. He never did. D:

So if anyone wants they can pickup on that topic?

Or ask me whatever. Be my friend!

Don't feel like you have to be original in your threads. If you want to post...just post and give your view on the subject, or just say hi, or just post your experiences...or just visit us in the chat

Regarding what has changed...well, we debunked sleep paralysis, as you can read in this thread.
We....came up with new techniques, as you can read all over the forum.
New and great books arrived, especially the recent Are you dreaming? By Daniel Love.

And lucid research seems to be increasing...but still not quite like it was in the 80s :x

Hm, after I stopped trying to lucid dream I picked up a bunch of hobbies like video editing, graffiti art(which I stopped doing,) and reading a lot about the Illuminati/Aliens/ect... My life spiraled out of control at one point, but I got it semi back on track.(still looking for a job, ugh...) Found a beautiful girlfriend whom I made a handsome little boy with. He's three months old. :p And just a bunch of random things mixed in with all that. Haha

Awesome thank you so much! Maybe one day soon dreams will be trending that way research will increase. I saw a news article on yahoo about some sleep masks that flash lights so you can begin lucid dreaming so we will probably see more about dreams now?

Well, the most recent announced mask (Remee) does not detect REM, so you have to guess when you want it to signal you. If it doesn't hit you during a dream, then it's useless. There's the NovaDreamer 2, that detects when you're dreaming and then warns you, but we're waiting for it for like...a decade?

Oh, and now many more people have started to use supplements in order to enhace their dreams/lucid dreams. It's a promising method (providing you use them the safe and correct way ^^).

Thats the one I read about Remee thought it was kind of cool, but what you said about it being a guessing game probably isn't worth the money. I've thought about taking b6 I just having a hard time taking pills. So I usually don't ever take them for anything. Also that possibility that the supplements do work really well for me I don't want to be dependent on them just to have awesome dreams. You know?

Yeah, I can totally understand, we got many people that think like that. Besides, it's always more fun when you achieve things without any help...or you can always get close results by eating food with said substances ^^

If it helps, I am an avid reader of a lot of forums. I am also the administrator on a very large forum, so I am not averse to joining in on conversations. That said I too have a hard time contributing here some times. The dynamic is very fast paced, people seem to know each other quite well, and I only post when I have something useful to add. Just enjoy your stay here, and don't get too bogged down. Plus, the IRC is super friendly.

I found a thread on here a few days ago about foods that have b6 and what not in them. I'll have to find it again.

I know, but I'm thinking another reason why I kind of fell out of trying to practice lucid dreaming was not talking to anyone about it. I got bored, didn't want to ask questions and feel stupid thinking someone has already asked a million times.

Same questions get asked and answered all the time. Don't feel bad about it. Look at last few month of posts and if you don't find answer to your question there, just post a new question. The more we talk about LDing, the better it is for us.

Meh just didn't want to be "that guy." I guess I'll just make a list of questions and ask them all in one thread to make it easy and organized. I have a few random ones.

Sometimes you just need to reply to something and start typing. You never know what will come forth.

A lot has changed over time but many things remain the same, especially the large numbers of good people found here.
