While I was away, life changing event..!

As some of you may know, I've had a little internet downtime recently, happily I'm back again. Unfortunately I've had a really negative, eventful time whilst away.

      Let me fill you in..!

So, I bought myself a new bike in February, a DRZ400sm. Lovely little toy, wanted one for years.
      Spoiler for DRZ400sm:

Anyway, on the 11th June I was out on my bike, it was a lovely, red hot day, I was literally 30 seconds from home, I came round a slow bend doing approximately 20 - 25 mph behind thin traffic. The car in front braked to turn into a car park, I braked also.

The bike slid from under me to the right, front wheel first and I went down to the left. I landed full force on my left elbow.
Spoiler for Not for the squeamish:

I thought I'd dislocated it. As I was so close to home, the ambulance medics allowed two young lads to push my bike home and for me to get changed as I was in full leathers, they would normally cut them off, nice of them to oblige I thought.

So I get to hospital and now I can hardly walk either, it feels as though my leg is broken, just what I need, a dislocated elbow I can deal with, but a broken leg, please..!

After x-raying various parts of my anatomy, I was pleased to hear my leg wasn't broken, the good news ended there. My elbow was shattered, no, the doctor said 'obliterated' and I would need surgery. I was scheduled for 2 hours of surgery, but I was in fact in surgery for 5 hours. My girlfriend was panicking, I was oblivious, thankfully.

The result of all of this drama.
      Spoiler for After surgery:

I have of course doubled my reality checks, but to no avail, lol, one can hope. I now face months of physio and the slim chance my body could reject the metal plates and pins, I dread to imagine where they go from there and no, I don't require any speculation people, my imagination has filled all the details in on that issue.

And so, that's what I've been doing while I was away. I still don't know why the bike acted in such a way, but the question of diesel or oil on the road has come up. Time to visit my solicitor I think.

      Thanks for reading,

      Nicho..!

Wow, even as bad as that looks, it could have been much worse, eh? Wish you a speedy recovery.

+1 on wishing you speedy recovery. You know they say that exercising the appropriate muscles during lucid dreams can help with recovery if you believe in it.

Damn that was a pretty "eventful" time you had there, hope you recover well .

It slid out because you hit the front brake too hard. Hope it heals well.
