Talking Help me understand this Lol

Why is it that this is a dream site where you can blog your dreams, but no one replies to them?
YET! If there is a post about something irrelavent, like movies or video games, everyone wants to put there two-cent in!
      Lmao!

(I bet I'll get a few replies from this)

Believe it or not, some people actually do respond to dream journals. We call them weird.

I think people only reply to other's dreams if they find something interesting in it.

Other than that, all they would really say is "Awesome dream!" or "That's really cool!" which wouldn't be all that great imho.

yeah, people reply to DJs only every so often. Like in mine I only have one real response, the other I directed there from another thread where a dream was relevant to the discussion. The link is in my sig if you want comment...

I think there are a few people staking out my dream journal, and I'm watching a few others, too. Seeing as how a lot of dreams tend to be rather common/similar/nothing special, it is rather unusual to see too many comments, as there isn't much to comment on. When you get a good controversy or a chance for people to voice their opinions, though, a lot of feedback will pour in. After all, who doesn't like to talk about themselves? Many threads in SB and off-topic give a person just that opportunity.

And personally I use all the lounges threads for biding time until a real thread I'm subbed in is responded to.

I read dream journals when I have the time, and if I see something I find interesting enough to merit more than a three word reply, I do so.

Unfortunately, I personally don't have as much time as I would like to dedicate to reading DJs.

I read some also but most are not interesting. A lot appear to be redundant or things that I've already seen before.. so yeah.

I disagree. If you're living, alive, walking&breathing, then everyone has a "Life" Haha But I'm sorry life is a burden for you. Some others do enjoy theirs. And most who live, do dream. A lot of dreams come from you subconcious, sweetie.

But if you meant "day dreaming" then I agree.

Maybe this should be a part of the Dream Guides duties? Some do it, most don't. Perhaps it should be something set in stone where they read and comment on users DJ's.

I prefer to read and not post. Sometimes it's rather intrusive to do so, or at least feels it.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

Chelsea, if you are interested in a dreaming forum that is mainly about Dream Journals, people writing in them, others reading them and commenting on a regular basis...then I highly suggest checking out Mortal Mist (which is run by former admins/staff of DV). I have a dream journal here but haven't updated it in ages. But I try to keep my Dream Journal over there up to date. Plus it's a smaller forum, so if you're new I'm sure you'll get lots of comments on your dream journal. They are much more about dreaming there. A lot of people are more into off-topic shenanigans here it seems.

Indeed. You can inform the people you read their journal in chat, but honestly, what can you say to most of the stuff? "Good job, mate. Keep them dreams a-coming."

      Wow...

You think your dreams warrant more attention than a movie or a video game? Your dreams are irrelevant to everyone on the planet except you. Why would I waste time reading your (or anyone's) vague, and contrived dream blogs versus reading debates in extended discussion, scientific articles, or comedy in senseless banter?

I comment on yours all the time Mario... . IDK, I often just find something meaningful to say. But, yeah, overall, in most DJs there isn't much to say.

I expect no comments, and it isn't the greatest or most interesting journal in the world, but it is there, on the off chance anyone cares in the faintest (which most don't). I really do appreciate the comments LDS leaves, though.

This site is perfection. You read about lucid dreaming and then once you're done, like someone else said, you chill. There's only so much on the topic of lucid dreaming that can be discussed before it becomes very stale. And in case you haven't noticed, dream journals are very widely-read.

I only registered today, and yet I've looked at a couple of dream journals. I find some of them a little interesting, but others not. It also feels like, if I post in them, that I'm kind of crossing a private line.
