My First Lucid Dream - A Thanks to Everyone! (DILD)

I'd like to thank everyone who has helped, even in the slightest way, on getting me to have my first, memorable, Lucid Dream.

This is how it happened. Last night before bed, I kept telling myself, actually feeling it when I said it, that I will lucid dream, and reality check in this dream. I told myself, after 6 months of trying, it's happening tonight. And it did. At 4:00AM I woke up, and attempted to WILD after going on DV's for 10 minutes. I fell asleep WILDing and woke up again at 5:00. I have a cold and sore throat, so just gave up and went back to bed. Then in the middle of dreaming, I went lucid. (DILD) It was far from being 100% vivid, it still felt dream-like, I had no control, and it was fuzzy at times, but without a doubt a Lucid. I looked at my hands a lot, did constant nose pinch RC's, and kept it going for what seemed like half an hour or more! I was surprised at how stable I kept it. I was forced to follow the dream story and plot though.

Look at my dream journal entry to the left if you wanna read about it! (Very long)

      I can't stop smiling

      Congrats!

I remember having my first LD, though I have to go back into my paper dream journal to see what I actually did in it...
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

This is my first posting and I´m happy you have accomplished your first LD. Since I started some RC´s during wake time and the dream journal one month ago, then suddenly, in a new moon night at 4:00 am I also had my first vivid, colorful, unquestionable LD in a DILD experience, then not anymore. I´m thankful for all the information received from this website and I think it played an important role. I know it may not sound very scientific but does anyone know about full moon and new moon influences on the frequency of LD ?

Congrats! It's an awesome feeling. I've been in a good mood all day. And the dream wasn't even very vivid! I only remembered part of it when I woke up.

It could have an impact... probably not much though. I heard it affects woman's menstrual cycles, so anything is possible I guess... haha.

Lucky! Well congrats and hopefully I get one soon too. I'm starting to do the no technique where you just use confidence in knowing your going to have a lucid dream.
