      Questions about my lucid nightmare

I had a lucid dream last night (details in my DJ) and it turned into a nightmare like 5-10 seconds after being lucid! I don't know why, but it just did. It first faded more and more white, then I fell from the sky and down into darkness. The next thing I know, I'm unable to move or speak, like I am frozen. I THINK it's sleep paralysis. I want to know, how can I stop this from happening? I didn't change it into a nightmare, my mind did. in the back of my mind, something about lucid dreaming scares me sometimes. Everytime I have this certian nightmare, I am so afraid to make any moves but wakeup and not get back into the lucid dream. I don't know how to stop this, because if it happens again, I'll never be able to have a lucid dream my way. Also, everytime I fly or something it isn't vivid, can someone explain that to me, also?

I think your problem is that you're not confident about lucid dreaming. It's only a dream and nothing can hurt you unless you expect it to. For example: If you think your dream characters will attack you, they probably will. Just remember to think positively and remember that it's only a dream and YOU control it. Good luck!

said quite right, but I also want you (Lynn) to visualize your dreams before you go to sleep, you can even use pictures to help you imprint images into your brain so you can manifest those things you would like into your dreams. just concentrate on that and it may help a bit. also try to overcome fears in your visualizations so you can take control over the nightmares instead of them taking over you.

But could it be that he is a little scared about lucid dreaming? that he's mind remembers the scared feeling and that it was going to 'show' it.

      o.O.......

Nufeather1, when I try to fight back my nightmare, it gets worse. Taking over it is quite hard in my situation, and seems uncontrolable.

If you don't like figthing, be-friend it! Some people get success with that anyway.

It is a dream, ask it to take a form and talk with you? You could try hugging it, too.

Although I laughed at the comment about hugging your dream, it's a very good idea, get to know your nightmare and learn what it's like by giving it a form and talking with it, make it a projection that you can talk to and maybe you might learn why your having the nightmare, if you're in control enough you could try making the projection of it afraid of something that's harmless to you and use that to control it, possibly make it go away

for the paralysis try making something that could move for you if you can
