      Scary LD...

i remember this LD attempt like it was yesterday... i was at a friends house and we were all just being stupid. one of the girls there started telling us about lucid dreaming, and i was the only one who had heard about it, and i knew vaguely how to. then she said we should all try to do it. of the eight people that were in the house, i was the only one to successfully LD. the way i did it was through SP (sleep paralysis for those who dont know). i made the stupid mistake of opening my eyes after successfully doing SP, and was met by a demon creature, and then i went blind XP i panicked, i'll admit it. i completely gave up trying to LD and tried everything to get myself out of sleep paralysis. it eventually worked, but im still afraid when i do that method XP

What method? WILD, WBTB, DEILD? You don't necessarily have to go into sleep paralysis while conscioussly entering the dream, sleep paralysis never happens to me I just go into the light and into the dream.
But yeah sleep paralysis can be somewhat a really scary experience especially if you believe in demons, ghost and etc. Just remember to stay calm, keep your eyes shut and remember the most important: IT'S JUST A DREAM, NO HARM CAN BE DONE TO YOU.

Were you aware that you were dreaming? Does not sounds like you were aware of it from the post, being aware that one is in dream is what lucid dream is, if you were not then it was non-lucid, but don't be discouraged because even then you were very close so congrats anyway.
And are you sure it was sleep paralysis? It's very unlikely that it was one unless you have experiencing sleep paralysis on regular basis aka you have sleep disorder with same name, and considering your post i guess you are not. http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...explained.html , alternatively if you were paralyzed it could have been just dream about being paralyzed, fake SP as i call it, especially considering you were thinking about SP just before.
If you are talking about WILD method, check out this proper tutorial WILD , WILDing really don't involves SP at all since only those with disorder can make use of SP, and as Mikasan527 said, remember, it's your dream, you were probably thinking about bad things when you were thinking about SP, so they came, so don't think about bad things next time, think about something that is good for you, and yes, be calm.
      Good luck!

Okay But I personally think it's the best to choose a WILD-method that works best for YOU, not a method that many people seem to find good. Also remeber to be patient,self-disciplined and motivated, I like to listen to music I like before going to sleep it boost the mood for me Of course you can WILD without any methods, but it's harder.

WBTB with MILD or WILD can be wonderful.

WILD is better when you're in a comfy place and semi-reclined, like in a lounge chair or propped up with pillows. You will be less likely to snore or choke be only having your head semi-inclined and it's easier to stay aware.
