First Lucid Dream : *I Think*

      Hello all,

So I think i had my first lucid dream last night but it was kind of blurry and some what short.

I've only been trying to LD for about a week, my intentions last night were to try improve my dream recall and experiment with mantras/autosuggestion, So i set alarm for 6 am, and kept saying to myself, "I'm going to wake up after my first dream, and remember it."

This ended up working! I woke up at 5am and I remembered my dream, went to sleep again, remembered another dream.

Then I repeated the method the 3rd time and had my lucid dream

      --------------------------
      THE DREAM
      --------------------------
I was sitting on my bad it was night time, I tried doing a reality check and put my index finger through my other palm!, then I tried the nose plug breathing, which also worked.

So I thought why not get out of my room, the door was closed, and I was all like "pshhh, who needs doors?", walked through the door and woke up

      --------------------------

Still a good experience and is motivating to me even if it was blurry and short.

If anyone has had a similar experience, comments, advice, or rude remarks I would love to hear them

Hi and welcome to DV! Congrats on your first lucid. It may take some time for your lucids to be somewhat longer but you will learn to do it with some practice. One thing to remember is not to get too overexcited, although moderate amounts of excitement might be useful in some cases. There are two things to concentrate on, especially in the beginning, increasing the number of lucids, and stabilizing the dream. About increasing the number, this may take some time and having a positive attitude is crucial, keep up the RCs, they seem to be working pretty well for you.

About stabilization, try engaging in the dream, use all your senses to experience the dream, touch smell see, in brief glances. Rubbing hands may also help prolong the dream. Alternatively, you may attempt just intending for the dream to be long and stable. Here saying out loud in the dream "stability" or " I have control of the dream" may help. Feel free to also experiment and come up with your own ideas. Good luck!

Congrats on the first lucid dream!
It's common for first lucid dreams to be short, but as NyxCC said, with practice they will become longer. Stabilization is an useful tool to prolong the lucid dreams and increase awareness, here's tutorial: Dream Stabilization and Clarity Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
Looks like you have nice amount control as well, keep it up and remember, everything in dream is possible!
Do you have a list of goals of stuff to do in lucid dream? If not, get one and read it a few times through the day and especially before going to sleep, that will increase chances of you remembering to do them in dream. Come up with any goals you like ofcourse, but if you have lack of ideas, we have a thread with lots of ideas: http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...cid-dream.html
      Good luck!
