Unhappy Trapped in a Lucid Dream

This morning I had the most vivid lucid dream series of my life. It was so vivid and powerful that I could not leave. Instead of fighting for lucidity like normal, I had to fight to wake up. Has anyone experienced this before? My dream journal read as follows:

I am in a pretty cave with two older couples, Sequoya, and their dogs. The dogs are penned in a foot deep pool of water for some reason. Two huskies, Cody, and two poodles; one of which is brain dead. In old man with a water tub shushes us as he thinks he hears something. Gives the dream a sketchy tone of Ukraine. We walk outside and my Buick is covered in dew. I touch it and begin to become lucid, but am awoken by my girl friend.

I drift back to sleep and experience sleep paralysis and HH. I experience thousands of pounds on my chest, and popping sounds in my ears. almost panic but stay calm and drift into a dream fully lucid. I am in a living room in front of a shuttered entertainment system shelf. The walls are a fruity green and I can tell that the climate is warm and humid. I walk down tiled stairs, through the screen door, and out to the street. I am in what seems to be a tropical island community. Two businessmen are arguing as they pull golf clubs behind them. I begin to lose the lucidity so I spin and all goes dark.

I see blotches that look like a woman's face, and then the dream pops in. I'm a porn camera man and a woman is pleasuring herself. As she climaxes she farts super loudly and I burst out laughing. I realize the bedroom is connected to the green living room. My vision fades then comes to, and I am once again in the green living room. I begin to think I may be dead, or trapped in the dream realm. I walk out and see the two golfers arguing. I take a left into the Cul-de-sac of the community. There is a gorgeous garden surrounding a fountain. The houses are all brightly painted modern pueblos, like you'd find at an expensive tropical resort. The flowers are vibrant and glowing, the sun powerful and warm, the weather perfect. I contemplate the notion that I am dead, and decide that if this is heaven then I can be content. As I feel a flower a song grows inside of me and I sing a made up Broadway-esque song I call "If this is heaven". At the climax note I spread my arms and spiral off the ground and begin flying for as long as I hold the note. I land and people clap, but something feels wrong.

I am getting worried now, despite the beauty, so I try to wake myself up. I force my eyes open to find myself yet again in the green room. I force my eyes open again and I am on my bed, heavily intoxicated with limbs nearly impossible to move. I try to scream to my girlfriend but my body will not budge. I finally manage to scream "Wake me up!" but she pitifully replies that she too is stuck. Finally I gasp awake and know its real life.

For about half an hour after, I was terrified of being sucked back into the green room. Reality has seemed kind of thin today and I just was wondering if anyone has experienced this as well?

Were you laying on your back when you fell asleep or woke up? I experienced something like that before. I think that when you fall asleep on your back you have more chances of dreaming that you can't move on your bed or you are more likely to have a vivid lucid dream. I say this because I use to sleep on my back more a long time ago and would lucid dream more than I do now and if I was having a nightmare it would be hard to wake myself up. Not even my dream characters/guides came when I called and they protect me great when I have a nightmare. :3 I could even wait a while for one of them in the dream and he'd come. But anyways you don't have to let it bother you. If you fall asleep and you end up moving on your back and have a dream like that again. Just relax, fight your fears if they come and if you can't wake up quick or move just know you'll be okay. It's just a dream after all. :3

Yea it was incredible, and terrifying!

But yes I was on my back, its the only way I can lucid dream. I always sleep on my stomach, so I've trained myself to fall asleep on my back to initiate dreams and for better control. I'd like to think that laying on my back with my arms at my sides mimics a neutral standing position, so there is less dissonance between dream and waking limbs.

But yea good point Dawn... It just felt so real, and it was so vivid that I almost forgot what waking life was like... Crazy.

I've had a couple of lucids like this. All I can say is that for me its a fear thing. Try to not run away from the dream and try to not panic. Stay still for a moment and calm down, stabilize and just do what you want to do in the dream. Getting sucked into the dreams tempo will mess you up! Especially if your sub-conscious mind is as scary as mine!
