Let's hear about your first Lucid Dream

When you have your first lucid dream it's truly amazing and awesome and I will remember my first till the day I die.
I was in my school hallway when and realized I was dreaming, I was so excited, I looked at my hands, and saw to kids in front of me, I blew them up with fireballs and sprinted out the door and jumped and started flying, but I fell and woke up.
If you can't remember your first LD, then just think of one that was very memorable or vivid.

I was sitting in what seemed to me a panic room (must've been from a movie or something) and for some reason seeing an old buddy of mine from when I was younger triggered some awareness and I started questioning things. I opened the door, and was in an alley way, yet a wall on one of the walls was glitching out as if it were a video game. I looked at my hand and I noticed there were six fingers, and I instantly realized I was dreaming then. As it was my first I didn't want to do anything crazy and lose control, so I just kept walking through this town, soaking in everything. It was so incredibly sharp, the image that I had. I wasn't fully aware, but all I remember is everything being so crystal clear and just beautiful, it is truly something I'll remember for a while. I also remembered that I was going to be taking exams that morning (a stress induced lucid dream!) and so I tried studying while dreaming... which woke me up pretty quickly

That lucid dream must have been not long ago huh?
studying for a test in a lucid dream sounds like a good idea.

I had my first lucid dream a couple of years ago while practicing Astral Projection. Back then I didn’t know what Lucid Dream was and I didn’t believe that it can be possible to be in a dream and know you are dreaming.

I was on a stone road and on both sides there were various kind of shops. I was dreaming normally and suddenly it just happened, I became lucid inside the dream. I looked on my right, on my left, at my hands and said: I am in a dream and I am aware of this, how did this happened. Then I was thrilled from joy, and I tried to stay calm. I knew that overwhelming feelings can make me to wake up. Also I knew that I could do whatever I want and started messing with the dream environment and especially the dream people. I rammed into each shop, interrogating the shopkeepers. What is your name?, your job?, do you know that you are in my dream?, do you have any advice for me?, can you predict the lotto numbers? They actually responded to my first two questions (they seemed a bit shocked at first) but after a while they just kept staring at me speechless and unemotional. I kept asking then and repeating the same question again and again, some of them did responded with inconceivable answers others stopped responding. I kept messing with the dream people, breaking things, nudge them and I grabbed the girlfriend from one of them and took her with me. Initially all of them responded normally but after that they just kept looking at me doing nothing. Finally the dream ended and I searched the web for that phenomenon, then I learned what lucid dream was.

My first lucid dream was just a week ago, and honestly, it wasn't all that great other than being lucid, of course. I was in a light grey hallway, with one of my friends in front of me and the other standing in a dark grey room to my right. The friend in front of me told me to follow her, and suddenly it hit me that I was dreaming. I tried to stay calm, but immediately woke up after everything got blurry and unclear. I did have another, longer lucid dream after that, though, which was pretty fun.

I had my first lucid dream when I was at elementary school. I dreamt that I was at school and some kids were upset because of a creature that sat in the corner of a classroom. It looked like a big spider with a pair of lobster claws. They told me not to touch it because it would cut my fingers, but I wasn't scared. I went to the corner and picked up the creature to carry it outside - and then it attacked me and DID cut my fingers. When I looked at my hands, I saw that it had cut all my fingers in half, in a way that it now looked like I had twenty fingers. That was the moment I realized that I was dreaming, and I said aloud: "You can't scare me, I know this is just a dream. And I can wake up anytime I want."

I woke up in my bed, and just to be sure, I looked at my hands again. When I saw that my fingers were still cut in half, I panicked and then I woke up for real.

It's probably due to that frightening false awakening that I still remember this one :-)

The thing I'll remember the best about my first lucid dream is how "easy" control seemed compared to my next 9-10 lucid dreams....Ah, the troubles of overthinking it
Oh boy, it seems I just had a coffee, recalling your first LD gives you a great feeling ^^

I have the DJ Entry right here. This was the first ever lucid dream I had that I remembered.

I can remember being in this sort of mine or cave. There were lots of cells in the wall. Each one had an archway of a huge iron door. There was a group of people in each catacomb. All of the people were dressed in rags and looked hungry and weak.
Darth Vader was there (As hilarious as it sounds) and he was the main bad guy. I can remember him saying something about the people could either eat poisonous food or die of hunger. I knew that I could not overpower him, so I tried to hide behind some rocks.
I was worried that he would be able to sense me with the force, and sure enough at that moment, he turned around and cut my head off with his lightsaber.
My disembodied head rolled off an underground cliff and down a large circular shaft. I can remember it falling past a conveyor belt that was assembling people by attaching muscles, organs and bones. This type of thing was a common theme with nightmares when I was a kid. (There was this character I would sometimes dream of that I called the peoplebuilder. He would put people together with parts grown in a lab and bring them to life. He himself wasn't evil but the concept scared me.)
When I got to the bottom, I fell into green liquid. I assumed it was acid, and it was dissolving my head that was still alive. At this point a I just thought for some reason.

"This has GOT to be a dream!" (Haha, I always used to say this when I got lucid as a kid, with comedic emphasis on the word 'got')
I flew up out of the shaft, smashing the nightmare assembly line. I was in my full body again. Darth vader turned around, but before he could draw his lightsaber, I blasted him with a massively powerful white laser beam from my hand. (Something I have not replicated in any dream to this day.)
He flew out of the cave, and onto a platform surrounded by water. In fact, the cave existed only in a small mountain with ocean all around it. He got up. I was flying above him, ready to strike again. But my vision was taken out of my body, and I watched myself blast him again and again.
Eventually the whole lucid dream sort of zoomed turned out to be a movie that was playing on the television in my basement. and I lost lucidity. Some unrecognizable adult family member was sitting in the chair next to me with a can of beer in one hand.
I can remember my mom came downstairs.
"This movie is too scary for you! Why don't you watch something else?
      "
      Then I woke up.

Feel a little ashamed of myself for just copy-pasting it, even though I remember it clearly. I have a bunch of stuff written down. My first lucid dream, my dream signs, etc. I guess I added the bits in parenthesizes for a little more context, though...

My first lucid dream was funny. I realized I was dreaming and I turned into godzilla and I Summoned Mecha godzilla and we started fighting. I won. I killed everyone and ate all the fish.

My first LD was back in spring 2011 during 7th grade. I was in my old middle school when one of my friends randomly told me to fly back home and get him a pair of swim trunks. As I was flying away from the school, I had this thought of "wait am I dreaming?" Then I touched down on a small field right outside the school grounds near an intersection. I looked at my hands and noticed I had 6 fingers and I went lucid. I remember I was REALLY excited because it took me a while to get an LD. Shortly after, I cupped my hands preparing to do a Kamehameha and blasted it. Not a lot came out of my hands, but I did manage to shoot out a small light blue beam, so I was satisfied. And the vividness was extreme. The place I was at looked exactly the way it does IWL and I remember feeling the sun and warmth on my body. When I woke up I was so excited that my hand was shaking as I was writing it down.

My first LD was probably a couple of months ago. I did a FILD. After I was done moving my fingers, I did the nose pinch RC and I could breathe, but I don't think I was really in control of the dream, because everything was unexpected and I couldn't really control anything after I floated out of my bedroom, and outside. There was snow piled taller than my house, but the only cleared place was the sidewalk. It sorta looked like the picture here, but much taller:9a0c028846494e5cb50ea431763264b7-d5ef06fa667e448db2c925c791c4991d-0.jpg
Anyway, my friend from 4th grade helped me find a good outfit to wear in the snow while we were sitting on the snow (or clouds?) Anyway, when I woke up, I didn't have a dream journal... Thank god I've remembered all the details ever since.

Did anyone else start lucid dreaming as a kid, to avoid nightmares? I just started recognizing the "feeling" of being in a dream. Once I was talking to a cartoon alligator that had something to do with my 3rd grade teacher, and it said it would catch me and eat me if I went into its moat. I said that was OK, because I would just wake up.

There were dreams about screaming faces pushing outwards from the walls, grisly human bones under the kitchen table, nightmarish carnivals being attacked by a giant version of my favourite plush toy, and one instance of a monster using the decapitated helmets of the Power Rangers as a drumset. I needed some sort of self-defense, badly.

I had awoken for real, got up and took a shower returned to my bedroom and was sitting on the edge of my bed, I held up my hand and opened it saying "this" (closed my hand and opened it) "never" (closed my hand and opened it again) "works" then it came back to me. IT WORKED LAST TIME!!! suddenly I remembered my 3 minute first intentional lucid dream (I had some others decades ago when young). I was outside my house walking out the front sidewalk in the center of our entirely rocked yard. There were no cars on the street but at least 50 people walking along, and it was broad daylight (I think it must have been several minutes into a false awakening) I thought this can't be real. So I brought up my hand. 1,2,3,4,5 What this is real? No way? closed hand then opened again 1,2,3,4 and a transparent pinky makes 5. WHAT? Staring at the pinky it becomes very solid. All the people in the street are standing still now (they had all been walking towards the main street in the same direction and at the same pace). As I stared at my hand I noticed that my fingers didn't seem as stubby as usual, so two of them decided to get in character and started to shrink, then they began to twist and distort a bit bending and rotating and continuing to shrink as I stared constantly at my pinky. [I want to point out that my RC served 3 purposes for this dream 1) detection 2) focus & stabilization 3) recall (because I had actually forgotten the whole thing)] I didn't even know how important stabilization was, but since my next 2 lucid dreams one and two months latter lasted a grand total of 1 minutes, it is the most important thing. Because of the staring in this first lucid dream it lasted a total of about 3 minutes. It also gave me total lucidity and good sense of control. (in every long lucid dream I have there is always something against me)

I decided to command the dream people. I called out to one of them 'come here' immediately they began moving towards me, then one of the other DC said "no don't go" and they stopped. I was incensed I raised my hand and called to them "COME HERE" they began moving again, and again the same DC said "NO DON'T GO OVER THERE". I couldn't believe it I was being DREAM HECKLED. I decided to turn my view so that I couldn't see the DC heckler and called to another dream person "come here" they immediately began walking towards me. Then the dreamscape it self which was ultra realistic and vivid, turned against me. I looked down and suddenly noticed the grass was 2 feet tall (there is no grass in the yard) and that it was coming up at about 1 inch per second, I knew it was going to block the dream person, and also engulf me in a matter of seconds. So I pulled up my other hand and tried to command it to stop, then I decided I was doomed and had better do something, I attempted to do 3 things at once, command the person, control the grass and perform a dream task, my attention was divided the dream world dissolved. (total lucid time 3min about 1 year ago)
Sure LUCID DREAMS are all fun and games until someone loses a third eye.

Actually, when I was younger, I tried to stop dreaming as a whole to avoid nightmares. I went to sleep much later, trying to distract myself from possible and past nightmares by reading, staying on the Internet, etc... Since I went to sleep much later, I rarely ever had dreams, so when I did have to go to sleep early for reasons I would try to force myself to stay awake a bit longer just to avoid dreams. I've only recently gotten over that, too, since I started lucid dreaming a few weeks ago. I hadn't even heard of lucid dreaming back then =P

Tried WILD when I first went to sleep (yes, I know we're not meant to do that. Haven't been able to replicate it yet). Found myself in my bedroom at night. Went to the window and tried to cause the sun rise. Failed, so I tried to walk through a wall. Succeeded and appeared in my mom's room. She gave me a horrifying smile. The kind that makes insane cheshire cats seem pleasent. Woke up.

Rather unfulfilling, to be honest. Later attempts were far better.

I was in a school hallway as well, and about to get into a bathroom and put on some clothes (I only had a towel at the moment). But right then one of my teachers walked by and stood to block the door, and I seemed to remember something about dreams and door teoubles, so I looked at my hands, they were normal but it was more something I did automatically than actually reality checking. "I'M DREAMING!" I thought and waved my arms to rise to the ceiling, where I kinda swam through the air. Everything was blurry though and it made me a little uneasy so eventually I woke myself up.

My first lucid dream was in 2007. I'd read about RCs a few days before and was doing them religiously throughout the day.
It started as a false awakening, but I remembered to do a hand check RC upon "waking" and became lucid.
I couldn't believe how realistic the dream felt, everything about my bedroom was replicated perfectly. I suddenly realised just how amazing lucid dreaming was going to be - I was really there, not just witnessing and watching something like a movie, or "controlling a character".
I slowly walked around the room, inspecting everything up close and admiring the detail and realism. I noticed that the carpet was more soft and fluffy than in waking life, so I knelt down and ran my fingers through it. I spent the whole dream just calmly exploring the room and engaging my senses, I was really in awe. I also looked in a mirror and considered teleporting using either that or the bedroom door, but I woke up before I got the chance.

I also had a few semi-lucid dreams in my early childhood. I would wake up in the middle of the night and see my wardrobe glowing neon colours, and I knew this meant that I could get out of bed and explore a magical world. I didn't ever acknowledge that it was a dream though, I just knew it wasn't real and that I had super powers. That only happened a few times, all before the age of 5, and then nothing until the dream above.

It was really short and boring. I was turning the blank pages of a book and when I realized I was dreaming I tried to find the last page but it wouldn't end

I was going on a tour of an art museum, and the tour guide announced "this is a dream." I decided to just continue going along with the tour, because the building looked interesting and I wanted to see more of it. The walls, floor, and ceiling of the museum were completely white, and it had a lot of staircases. Most of the art on the walls was abstract.

Very short, it was only like 10 seconds. I was at this beach, I realised I was dreaming and couple seconds later I woke up

Yeah I always got the hell out of my nightmares by just wishing myself awake...except when I only dreamt I had woken up.

I had fairly normal dream then I needed to go take a pee. Went up some stairs then Wham everything felt so intense, like the lights had been switched on and the dream character was really in my face. I couldn't move but just was in a state of shock to start with. Then the character asked me to do something for them later which I didn't really want to, I mean it was my lucid dream I wanted to fly idk do something not help this dream character out. But I thought why not as I agreed I felt a massive warmth and love radiating from me as a bright light and seriously intense feeling which continued for a time. I then went into another normal dream.

I awoke feeling quite overwhelmed with emotion and with the physical sensation of tingling and warmth over my chest area. This lasted strongly for about half an hour while I pondered over what had happened.

      I want more...

I've had a few as a teenager, but it was always sort of a "Whoa, okay that was weird." experience that I'd forget about. Usually because it was boring and involved me just standing there.

But then a few years ago I was working on dream recall just because. I was kind of in a shitty point in life and I started getting into spiritual stuff, so I was wanted to get into interpreting my dreams to find out what the powers-that-be wanted me to know.

One night, about two weeks into dream journaling, I had this dream where I met Michael (the archangel) as I was running from a nightmare creature. He lifted me up and I just kinda flew alongside him, and we passed by this huge tree. It was barren and had so many branches, and the sun was behind it shining through. I remember looking at all the different shafts of light coming through the branches as we flew by, and I thought "This is really vivid for a dream." And that's when it hit me - I WAS TOTALLY DREAMING. And I was conscious, and flying along with a friggin angel. It was this crazy spiritual experience and I was like "I have GOT to get more of this."

So I started looking it up and found the luciddreaming subreddit, and then found this site. I'm not SUPER spiritual anymore, though I still have my moments, but I swear that was one of the cooler moments of my life.

I was walking through a factory of some sort and went out an exit that was a dead end. When I came back inside, i noticed that the pipe layout had changed, and I suddenly became lucid. I went back out the exit, climbed the 8-ish foot brick wall. I jumped down and floated the last foot or so. I started to walk and said that I must stay in control emotionally. Suddenly, without volition, I jumped in the air and cheered my lucidity. Woke up in bed. Sad for the duration but happy I'd been lucid.

      Wow, these dreams are amazing

My first one was when I was probably in elementary school. Interestingly enough, I didn't quite know that I controlled the dream when I did it. I was at a bar (yeah, I know... under 21...), but at the stools sat SpongeBob and Patrick! I completely flipped out and talked to them for a little while, then I thought of some other cartoon characters and they appeared on nearby stools as well, but then the dream collapsed and I woke up.
