Anyone experienced this when relising that they're dreaming ?

On my last lucid, I found something out-of-the-ordinary. So I was like '' WTF, How is that possible ... I must be dreaming '' At the state in which I was begining to gain control, I felt heavy waves on my head. This happens to me every time I lucid ... Anyone with the same experience ??

Could you be more specific when you say "Heavy waves"? If it's what I think, I do get a similar sensation. For me it's like waves of excitement flowing through my body. Usually if I don't ground my self at this point I wake. To do this I rub my hands together.

No, its not from excitement. I dunno ... Like something heavy is inside my head. I'll tell you tomorrow.

I think maybe it's because you get lucid when you're very close to wake up and the waves might be sensations from sleep paralysis. It's just my guess, based on some similar experiences of lucid dreaming with vibrations and electrical shocks in the body, that usually happen on sleep paralysis. If you're sleeping in a very light state you may start feeling your real body and thinking the sensations come from the dream body and if you're on sleep paralysis phase then you feel those kind of things.

When i get lucid, i feel strange sensations in my hands and in my head. Like electricity, or like my hands are twisted. Sometimes this happens in real life too, if i don't move my arm for a long time. So i guess it might be sleep paralysis as mayatara said. It actually makes sense. Can it be just false senses from the dream?

One time when I became lucid I had these similar surges pulsing in my head. Its felt really wierd. I havnt experienced it since. It was wierd because it was probably one of the most realistic dreams iv ever had. It felt kinda like excitement but something different

No, I have many lucids and never experienced any of those waves on head, chest or arms that some of you mention. Only in sleep paralysis. For me it's a strange concept, but I guess each individual has different experiences and it may be part of lucid dreaming for you.
