I have had the same problem in the past along with some others here on DV. I wake up naturally after 4-5 hours and have a fairly good recall whether I just woke up from a dream or not. About 1 out of...

I think that's a good approach. I resolved to do something similar recently: just try to quickly recall during the night if you notice a waking, make mental keyword notes, and get right back to...

My tips would be either spend money on liquid melatonin supplement for before bed, or practice urotherapy for free to get melatonin like I do. I used to have bad insomnia, I'd sleep 3 to 4 hours on a...

Interesting. Reverse false awakenings are something I do daily, but not the second one. My mindset was more of this: "If I am lucid and am constantly becoming lucid throughout the day, then I will...

Though FryingMan hit the key points, I feel a need to make a little noise here, Cvdmehden: What is new here, much less super? If anything, you've left quite a bit out, including the value of...

This is a book for all levels. For those that have mastered examining reality, keep that in mind, but still play! ;)

You need to do Awareness. The one where you rub your hands is a stabilization thing, making your dream more clear. Awareness is the main thing that gets you lucid. Just be aware every once in awhile...

That was a good speculation, Tygar. I'm happy you noted that, because it can very likely be the cause. Ones subconscious tends to adopt an opposing force to that of your conscious thought. So,...

Ok, I guess I'm going to start posting here so that I can keep track of my progress and you guys can help me out
I've been using a dream journal for exactly 2 weeks and it's hugely helped me with my dream recall (which was very poor..now I remember 2-3 dreams per night) and with my dream signs. I have had 2 DILD's so far, the second one I had last night.
You can find my first DILD here
Anyway, enough talk.
Yesterday I decided to implement a new mantra (I've been using "I remember my dreams" and "When I dream I recognize dream signs and do RC's"). This new mantra is "Lucid dreams are important". I hadn't had a LD in a week and considering that I had one immediately after using this mantra, I guess I'll stick to it ^^
Anyway, here is the dream:
"I'm in a park and I'm wearing a strange pair of shoes. I see two friends of mine but I keep walking and go down some stairs. There is a wall in front of me and I jump over it, landing on the street below. I remain alive and realize I must be dreaming.
I stabilize my dream repeating "I'm dreaming" (differently from my first LD, in this one I repeat the sentence out loud and I can actually hear each word). I keep walking, see some guys in the distance and decide to try the "Super speed" trick, which by the way is suuuper funny I stop and I see some friends of mine who tell me "Your girlfriend is not here", but I want to summon her anyway, so I start looking for her in some cars that were there. I don't find her, but then I remember I read here on DV that I have to "know", not "wish", for something to happen. So I assume she's behind me and I try to take her by the hand and pull her in front of me, but that doesn't work. Then I assume she's giving me a *you know what I mean* and I look down, but that doesn't work either I don't give up and I keep looking for her.
At some point I feel someone touching my shoulder, I turn and see a friend of mine. I'm a little disappointed, but then I laugh at it and hear a voice, I reach the place the voice was coming from and there, finally, I find my GF trapped in 2 flying cubes and there were some people keeping her trapped there Trying to save her I lose a little bit of lucidity and when I finally succeed I take her in my arms and decide to end the dream in a nice way. So I teleport the 2 of us in my room, we get into my bed and I whisper her something, then I wake up."
