Oh, don't know why I haven't asked you directly :D Last night I drank some camomile tea to calm me down and I fell asleep pretty quickly, but then I woke up after 2 sleep cycles and I couldn't fall...

I agree with cvdmehden and mimihigurashi. I don't know for how long you've been meditating, but you become "experienced" at it and the concept that you are not your mind clicks you'll be free...

It's a matter of outcome dependence: you want it too bad! I've noticed that there are some days where I focus way too much on lucid dreaming, doing up to 30-40 RC's per day, trying to force...

If you can go with just remembering your dreams as you wake up from them and still record them in the morning, go for it! A dream journal is only a means, not an end ;) P.s. 1.Qh7+ Kf8, 2.Qh8+...

Read the book "Creative Visualization" by Shakti Gawain, I read it and it got me started. The purpose of the book is to teach you how to visualize to manifest the things you want in your life, so...

When it comes to influencing the subconscious mind it's always better to do so when you are in an alpha state of mind. Try repeating them immediately after waking up, before going to sleep or after a...

I totally agree with FryingMan, he came to my same conclusions: 1) Everytime I have that moment of focused awareness and the "Oh, am I dreaming?" thought popping up, I start to question my reality...

Just use your mantras/visualizations and then fall asleep normally. I actually find it difficult to fall asleep while repeating mantras, they just keep me awake. What I do instead is...

My tip is: share it with anyone. There will be some people who will be skeptical (like my father), people who will think you are crazy (like my mother), people who will mock you when you stress...

Ok, I guess I'm going to start posting here so that I can keep track of my progress and you guys can help me out
I've been using a dream journal for exactly 2 weeks and it's hugely helped me with my dream recall (which was very poor..now I remember 2-3 dreams per night) and with my dream signs. I have had 2 DILD's so far, the second one I had last night.
You can find my first DILD here
Anyway, enough talk.
Yesterday I decided to implement a new mantra (I've been using "I remember my dreams" and "When I dream I recognize dream signs and do RC's"). This new mantra is "Lucid dreams are important". I hadn't had a LD in a week and considering that I had one immediately after using this mantra, I guess I'll stick to it ^^
Anyway, here is the dream:
"I'm in a park and I'm wearing a strange pair of shoes. I see two friends of mine but I keep walking and go down some stairs. There is a wall in front of me and I jump over it, landing on the street below. I remain alive and realize I must be dreaming.
I stabilize my dream repeating "I'm dreaming" (differently from my first LD, in this one I repeat the sentence out loud and I can actually hear each word). I keep walking, see some guys in the distance and decide to try the "Super speed" trick, which by the way is suuuper funny I stop and I see some friends of mine who tell me "Your girlfriend is not here", but I want to summon her anyway, so I start looking for her in some cars that were there. I don't find her, but then I remember I read here on DV that I have to "know", not "wish", for something to happen. So I assume she's behind me and I try to take her by the hand and pull her in front of me, but that doesn't work. Then I assume she's giving me a *you know what I mean* and I look down, but that doesn't work either I don't give up and I keep looking for her.
At some point I feel someone touching my shoulder, I turn and see a friend of mine. I'm a little disappointed, but then I laugh at it and hear a voice, I reach the place the voice was coming from and there, finally, I find my GF trapped in 2 flying cubes and there were some people keeping her trapped there Trying to save her I lose a little bit of lucidity and when I finally succeed I take her in my arms and decide to end the dream in a nice way. So I teleport the 2 of us in my room, we get into my bed and I whisper her something, then I wake up."
