Just realize that lucid dreaming is at times more real than waking life. I think you'll find your answer in that. Is it really all that bad? I think that's for the dreamer to decide. All in all...

You can sit on your sofa, fall asleep for an early afternoon or late morning nap and voila! REM will be right there just after a very brief light/falling asleep sleep phase.

This dream is a good example of a dream with more than one possible meaning. I suppose that it could be some sort of precognitive dream or perhaps a spirit attack. But I believe that the dream is...

I dream that I'm chasing after my brother through the streets by my Grandfathers house.
It's summer, and I see my football coach from high school (5years ago) having a yardsale. We pass by this huge popcorn festival and he wants to go inside. But they tell him he's too young. So I'm walking past and this bodyguard grabs me and says you have to pay $1 to pass.
Non-lucid me decided to be sassy so I pulled 25cents out of my pocket and tossed it on the ground. He starts chasing me and I start running down these blue marble staircases. I realize I'm dreaming.
I decided to not change the dream environment and keep going down these really nice staircases. The dream fades and I see the same blue fading in and out of my vision.
I think I'm dreaming. So I try to get up out of my bed. But I cannot move and am only aware of my head. I start to wonder why I cannot move. But I see my hands are invisible and moving in front of people. So I think I must be a ghost. Once I get free I look at my hands. They're normal, so I was awake the whole last part.
