you are not cathloicism. you are Burke. why do you have to associate yourself with a religion you don't know enough about? |

So, I am roman catholic and am interested in chakra meditation. I want to know if this goes against my religion. It technically is not believing in any other god, just energy inside of you which, to my knowledge, is not against my faith. I do not have a lot of knowledge on chakra meditation, but I want to give it a shot. |

no-Name has some great advice. Id say go ahead with it, nothing but positive things would happen. And I have never once heard anything about meditation being bad, in protestantism or Catholicism. |

Oh, Nobly Born,
Now is the moment.
Before you is mind, open and wide as space,
Simple, without center or circumference.
Now is the moment of death.
-- Tibetan Book of the Dead
I've had Catholics tell me lucid dreaming is the devil. I've also had Catholics tell me lucid dreaming is awesome. I'm sure things would be no different with Chakra meditation. Its all where you draw the line. Believe in whatever makes sense to you, whatever makes you feel closer to God. Don't tie your freedom of thought down to somebody else's dogma. My suggestion is to turn the ideas behind Chakra meditation into your own form of prayer. A spiritual practice like that can be a profound help to your own faith. |

Speesh has had sImmilar experiences to me. I've met people who are homeschooled, and have uber-strict christian parents. Everything from Dungeons and Dragons, to Meditation, to Lucid Dreaming, To Violent Videogames is sent from the devil to corrupt children according to them. And then I know a preachers family who does most of the above. Like speesh said, its where you draw the line. |

I'm quite sure you'll be fine. Speaking from a wealth of knowledge and personal experience, you have nothing to worry about. |
