Testing the affect of Banana's on Dreaming.

I am writing this on the night BEFORE the test, today, I have eaten 3 banana's, one about 4 hours before sleep, another about 2 hours before sleep, and one when I went to bed.

It is currently 22:54 on Sunday the 11th of May 2013.

I can safely say I definitely noticed a difference to dream recall AND vividness!
Although, I only remember one of my dreams, it still seemed to last a long time.
If anyone is interested in what I dreamt about, then I shall tell you.

The dream started off with me in a dark, long, room. I could see 'things' all along the side of the room, there must have been at least 10 all along the wall, they kind of looked like raffle wheels, but in stead of the cylindrical tube, it was a black, potato shaped thing.
      (they looked like this)
      potato.jpg

Then this tall, frog like, man comes into to the room and starts spinning one of the raffle wheels. I walk over to him and he starts speaking to me in pretty much gibberish although I can make out some of what he's saying.
For the rest of the dream, he walks around the room slowly, talking to me.
I know it's not a very exciting dream, but it was gripping at the time, okay? haha.

So to conclude: YES. Banana's DO make a difference to dream recall and vividness in MY experience, but I have heard banana's are full of b6, so it's probably just as well to go for the supplements. (especially if you don't like banana's!)

      P.S.

Nice to see the positive results, but you might want to test it a few more times whenever you do a research. There's many variables that can be present in one single day which makes it hard to tell what exactly made you experience great dream recall, such as expectations, another food you ate, dream recall improvement by it's own, etc etc.

Still, you took your time to dig the information and correctly guess what makes banana's good for dream recall ^^ Are you planning to try this with more foods? Would be interesting to see

      @Zoth

Good point, I never really though about that, next time I'll definitely try it a few more times before I come to a conclusion.

Also, I may try with some other foods and see how it turns out, depends when I can get around to it really.

It's funny I came across this post, for the last week I have tested bananas as a dreaming aid and I had horrible results. Instead of the positive results like yours, I had negative side effects. I would eat two bananas before bed each night and my dream recall and vividness was reduced horribly. I guess everyone is different but I would listen to Zoth's suggestions and continue testing. good luck!

I get nice results with bananas too i think, but oh there are so many confounding variables and factors ( specially intention )

Now i prefer not to eat during WBTB because i get hungry again after around 2 hours. If i donīt eat i donīt get hungry LOL

For me, it works best to take a pill
