Standard music tracks have no way to get through to the dream world for me, so I switched tactics.
Loading the ipod with isochronic, and binural beats was the next experiment.
I also swapped over to a loose fitting set of earphones, as the in-ear ones were a little uncomfortable.
Much better results this time. I had around six, or seven dreams. None of which were lucid.
Then my wife turned over, and woke me up. She was thirsty, and went into the kitchen for a drink.
I looked at the ipod to reset it, but noticed hardly any time had passed at all.
In fact, I had been asleep for only 22 mins.
A second attempt ended after I woke up, and angrily took the headphones off, and threw them down the bed.
My mind was not getting any rest, as the dreams were all over the place.
Perhaps, shorter versions of the tones would work. So tonight I will be reducing the length of tracks to around 3 min's each.
Also a bigger gap between tracks to give my mind time to settle.
