Types of music

Hi guys
I created this thread to see what music everybody is into
Well, i'm into rock and a little metal. I play the guitar, I only just started at the beginning of this year and i'm really enjoying it. My favourite genre is classic rock, which has all the good old legends like AC/DC, judas priest, iron maiden and guns 'n roses. My favourite band right now is the modern rock band Avenged Sevenfold.
What do you guys listen to, are there any other rock heads here?

Shoegaze is the bestest genre ever, though the number of works is limited. I like anything with a strong melody... so pop/rock largely (Beatles...) with dance influences (Stone Roses, U2...), or sometimes some more experimental stuff (Radiohead). I also love Arcade Fire who kind of created their own genre (I find the term 'indie' to be utterly useless).

I can relate to some of those bands too (particulary U2 and Radiohead)
So do you listen to music a lot?

I suppose I've been overtaken by electronic music, now. That's what the majority of my library tells me, at least.
Of course everyone has their favorite rock bands (Bear vs. Shark) but isn't it more interesting to diversify?
I've also been leaning towards hip-hop (P.O.S) for a while. Folk (The Tallest Man On Earth) just hit me hard, as well.
But genres are useless, so there's very little to say.

Yeah I listen to music all the time. I spend a lot of time playing piano too, covering various songs.

Radiohead are very good to cover, they have very strong melodies with a kind of ambience well suited to piano. I'm working on Kid A at the moment which is really interesting.

I feel like if I say I'm into the Rock genre, that I'll be saying that I listen to pretty much anything Rock. Which would be a lie. I'm very picky about the music I listen too

Ska
Rockabilly
Metal(folk, viking, epic)
Jazz/ swing

Some of those more than others. I've been more into the Metal stuff the last yr or so

I like lots of different types of music, but it ultimately depends on the song.

I have music that's...

- Rock
- Hard rock
- Alternative
- Pop
- Inspirational

I can't stand really hard rock though, or rap. Or any music that's very technologically enhanced. My favourite singers that I currently have on my music player are Kyle Andrews, Nickelback, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kris Allen, and a bunch of others. :3

I know some people are gonna hate me for this, but i also hate technologically enhanced songs, because i think that they sound like beeping robots - let me assure you i would rather listen to some serious guitar like Dragon Force than monotonous beeps coming from a computer.
And what is your favourite Red Hot Chili Peppers song?

Classic Rock, heavy metal, grunge, alternative rock (mostly 90's stuff), punk, funk rock, funk/jazz, jazz fusion, reggae, reggae rock (i.e. 311), ska, progressive rock, progressive metal, acid rock, psychadelic rock, rap (a few early 90's rappers/hip hop make it onto my list), there's some stuff from electronica, etc. That makes my list as well.

I like a lot of different styles of music. It's not really the genre as much as certain qualities of the music, I'd love to discuss it but I have to go. I'll be back at some point to add more.

I like a bit of Metal, Rock, Alternative.... Anything in that general area. I hate Country, which sucks cause I live in a small town. There something about living in a town with a population of 200 or less that makes people wanna listen to crappy rants about other people loosing there wife/tractor/dog/ or getting hammered(the only good part of country songs).

PS: Sorta related... mainly cause I don't like MJ, but Puffin, your avatar scares me

I used to listen to a bit of pop and r&b too but it's all the same to me, so I deleted it all off of my iPod.

Current favourite bands are - Number One Gun, The Classic Crime and Deas Vail.
