I only get about 60% to 70% of what Link was saying. Darn my bad English.

But I don't feel that Link was being negative in his post.

I see no qualms in expressing your opinions openly in this thread, after all this is the chill and rambling thread in the SB section.

Ah, I guess I'm just bad at detecting tone on the internet. There I go making mountains out of molehills again

Anyway, I just found my favorite book from my childhood in a box in the back of my closet! It's the Official Dinosaur Encyclopedia, copyright 2001. I can't believe I kept it with me after all these years

Can you believe 2001 was 12 YEARS ago? Man, time sure flies.

*Tries to remember anything precious that I kept for 12 years*

      Nothing came to my mind...

Oh wait. My Pokemon VCDs! I first got them when I was 7, that would make them 14 years old! xD

Hm, anyone want to suggest some really creative, strange and awesome books? - something that is like a dream world I suppose, strange and unusual yet cool and exciting!

Alice in Wonderland comes to mind...The Wizard of Oz books are really good if you've never read them all.

I can totally recommend Imagica by Clive Barker. It's a good read and very strange.

I also suggest the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov and The Nine Billion Names of God by Robert Heinlein.

Isaac Asimov also has great collections of short stories, one of which inspired me to imagine a whole dreamworld.

Read "Cloud Atlas"! Great book. Also "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance".

I never did get into Zen and the AOMMA but it was probably my mood at the time.

Kurt Vonnegut is good...The Sirens of Titanwas one of my favorites though Breakfast of Champions was also quite interesting.

Tom Robbins (Still Life With Woodpecker) is also worth a read.

Of course, if you haven't ever read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy or the sequels then you have never lived.

      Don't forget your towel.

Is there any good book that doesn't use fanciful English? I can't understand a book if it has too many descriptive terms, although I know that's the essence of a book. There were times I'd rather borrow a children's book because it's easier for me to picture the story.

I actually used to keep a large towel on me at all times in my junior year of highschool (just in case). When teachers would ask me about it, I would pretend to be Muslim and tell them it was a prayer rug.

      Junior year was fun.

Bah! I hate when my sleep schedule gets fucked up. I worked last night, then had to go to a stupid meeting this morning. So I only slept about 4-5 hours last night. Then around 4pm, I fell asleep after reading for a while. I just woke up and it's almost 9:45pm now (plus I woke up to the constant bass thump of my neighbors horrible taste in music). I hate napping mid-day, makes me feel like I missed out on doing stuff.

I hope I learn something personal about myself during Spring Break, I'm kind of worried if it'll just be doing nothing but couch potato mode and occasional reading.

I hate napping in the afternoon because it screws up my sleeping schedule and I sleep at around 5am - 6am again.

Although I kind of like sleeping through my mornings, I will be at a total lost of what to do if I woke up too early. Not sure why.

I think you'll be a coach potato for a week.

It's too little time to motivate yourself to do anything meaningful. Or you can start planning your one week schedule now so you'll know what to do when the spring break comes.

      ---

I feel so utterly restless now. The night is young, I've got things to do and I've work tomorrow. The thing is I haven't had anything meaningful to do at work for 3 weeks. I feel like I'm wasting my life at work. I finally got a task last Friday because I shown keen interest at that task that was assigned to others.

I haven't told much people about this. I might not be able to get through my probation. This will be the second time that I'm getting terminated from a job. The first because I was late often due to their frequent OTs and the long travelling time that's simply taking a toll on me. I was terminated for valid reasons so I accept it.

Now I'm not able to pass through my probation because the boss sees that I'm not mixing with the others, that I'm always keeping to myself. I see the lot in my company being judgemental and critical at all sorts of things, so I don't talk to them to prevent myself from getting hurt. Besides the company's chat is polluted by casual talk 90% of the time. I didn't know I was obliged to talk in it. I thought talking about work related stuff will be enough. The boss sees that communication is an important aspect since a game company is sort of a service line too as we have to handle the gamers. But he barely knows how much I'm interacting with the players online and how much I'm helping them and how many players come to me when they need help in the game.

I'm not exactly feeling frustrated or anything. My trainers told me last week that I might not be able to pass through probation. My guess is my chances are 90% I'm not going to pass through probation. So now they're still keeping me at work while I'm hidden from the results. So should I be motivated to work or not? I don't like the feeling of hanging on a hook. Why don't you just tell me so I'll know what I can do with my life from now on?

      Sorry to hear that Carrot.

The only difficulties I have is just getting a bad grade from the second Biology Exam, and maybe for the rest of the courses. Midterm grades probably will be bad too, and I have to make a 95 on the last two exams for Biology for any hope of a high C or a B at least.

And the political science exam was hell because it went so far into specifics that it was just too much. I remember someone saying the class averages overall were horrible, like in the 30s range, and apparently, he curved it big time to make sure it gets to a 75.

I hope your grades will turn out well.

I finally understood the differences between working and schooling. Your school will never abandon you no matter how bad your grades were (unless you have been repeating the same year for the 3rd time). No matter how bad I was at school, I never repeated any years. In fact I was doing fairly good when I was younger.

When you're at work, they'll cast you away for the most ridiculous reasons. I have no idea how I'm supposed to plan my future if I can't even secure a job. I really have no idea what I should work as next. I could go to university which would give me more job opportunities after I graduate but that doesn't guarantee life will be smooth. I might still get fired again. Seems like there isn't much jobs available for my introverted nature.

Remember the link about how you could deal with being introverted? You just have to handle people one step at a time, and even so, I don't think being introverted is the major conflict. Then again, I don't know the lifestyle of Singapore

Hey Carrot, I'll hook you up with her if you're interested.

      Hahaha, just joking.

No but seriously, if you are interested, I know that one and another one from the Netherlands, Germany, or some part in Europe and is also a model. Oh and I know one more lesbian in texas as well.

The one from Germany/Netherlands/or somewhere in Europe is a little feisty, but she's pretty damn hot.

Then there's the third one in Texas that I used to know but probably forgot about me after I convinced her to believe that she could put herself in a straitjacket and let me have my way with her. Guess she didn't want to become bi-sexual.

She was actually pretty fun, she had a similar mindset like I did when I was too cynical about everything.

      *sigh*

      Wait...what.

LOL, I can't believe I almost converted a lesbian. FUCK, should've kept going at it. Aww man t___________t

Wait what? How could you convert a lesbian? How could you? That will mean there's lesser girls for me. But really, I'm fine now. Besides they live kind of far from me.

I've only had 2 jobs so far so I don't know much about the working life too. My boss seems to have some issue that I'm keeping too quiet but whenever there's an opportunity to chat, I had to deal with a whole group of people and their presence eats up all my guts so I just keep to myself and don't say a word when they're chatting. Why do they always have to go around in a big group?

Oh and Link, I found you in a comic strip!

See the guy on the right, I think it resembles you.

I think DV needs a mobile site. DV doesn't seem to work well on my phone, browsing is fine but replying is tricky because I can't click on the textbox in my phone.

I didn't really "convert" her, but she started having hints of bi-sexual nature when we talked in High School. She would be considered the chick that was evil to everyone else, but I seem to be able to make bad girls turn....never mind. LA LA LA LA LA LA. All they need is just someone to understand them, then....yeah *cough*

Yeah, I guess it's just them feeling they have to be social because I know over here in America, it's all about being able to work with others (even if it's done in a fake way)

LOL, that part where "finally something that's not white" cracked me up. One person in middle school thought I was Orlando Bloom, then another thought I was some racer or hockey player, and then others started to think I was Obama because of what I was thinking, or maybe because I was the only black tennis player in the team of that school. They had some weird thing going on with the debate with Obama and John McCain.

Hahaha, that comic strip is priceless.
