      Internet disconnects when uploading flash

      Hi guys,

I would appreciate some help. Everytime I try to upload flash, my internet disconnects and comes back after my modem reboots. I have cable internet.

Each time I tried to upload some flash video to webhosting company, internet disconnects after a few seconds. Today, I was doing some speed test that has flash, and same thing. Same, when I do video skype. Without video is fine. Can it have something to do with Java? I didn't have this problem before, it just suddenly started.

      Thanks.

If your having a problem with flash, chances are it's a flash problem . Update it if you can. If you can't, uninstall it, and reinstall it.

I can see others through their video on skype, but my internet disconnects couple of seconds to minutes after I turn on my webcam.
I was able to check my download speed from Speedtest.net, but disconnected when doing upload speed.
When uploading some simple flash slideshow to my website through Java FTP client, it again crashed at different times during upload.

I can download and stream videos no problem, always seems just during upload.

I was actually thinking it's Java, not the flash itself. I think I have the latest updates.

I just went to my webhosts java ftp client and i can't even see remote files, only mine local ones. I get the connection reset by peer:socket write error.

Any idea would be appreciated. Thank you.

That's strange. I don't really know what could be causing that, but try using a different device. If it happens for everything then you might want to call your ISP. Otherwise I guess it might be network card related? Kinda strange that your entire connection shuts off.

My internet disconnects whenever I download something or watch a video. Sometimes it does so randomly... Anyone got any clues about this strange phenomenon?

Screwed up router would be my first guess on both of these.

      Thanks for the ideas.

So nobody thinks it has anything to do with java?

Flash and Java are two completely seperate things. Your modem/router/ISP is fucked, call technical support.

Your modem doesn't care were the content you are trying to upload appears coming from. (Flash, Java, direct transfer, whatnot) If the modem is rebooting by itself replace it. Call your ISP up and tell them your modem (or whatever box it is you are talking about) is shot and they need to replace it.

Have you tried a different ftp client such as filezilla to upload your content to your website?

Please click on the links below, more techniques under investigation to come soon...
