Sleep Paralysis? Getting into a dream?

So I tried a WILD again just now and I went through the usual
routine of experiences. Relax my muscles, hands go numb, arms
feet start a little bit, everything gets warm, my feet start to feel
like they're sifting away in a breeze, the whole 9 yards. then when
I got into the pre-sp feeling ( heavy, a lot of pressure, etc... ) I
noticed my hands lifting up. My arms felt like they were literally
6 inches above the bed but I knew this was not the case because
I could still sort of feel my jeans on either thumb. Then eventually
my arms dropped back down to rest on the bed and then I felt
something else. It was like an insect as large as my fist latched on
to my throat where my neck meets my shoulders. It was a strong
tingling sensation as if this massive thing was trying to eat into
my neck. Then I though "hey, this is just a hallucination. Haha,
sucker, you can't do shit because you're not real!" *point and laugh*
It stayed for a while and I didn't really care then it started to go
away a little bit and I did a reality check which passed.

Was this sleep paralysis? Was there something I should have done
differently? I tried letting my body "float" of my... well... body, but
it didn't work. Any advice would be appreciated.

      Thanks,
      ~Wes

It could have been SP. Were you able to move? Did you hear really loud sounds or felt terrified in general?

At first, then I realized it was a hallucination so I wasn't scared that much. I didn't
really hear any sounds. And yes I was able to move.

Sounds like hypnagogic hallucinations to me. I usually WILD without experiencing them. You'll often know when you enter sleep paralysis, because you'll feel tingles (at least that's the case with me). Sometimes I don't notice them, and go straight to feeling my body moving in some unnatural way, which means I'm entering a dream.

You're getting close, though, there's no doubt about that. When you start hitting sleep paralysis regularly you'll be on the brink of WILDing.

When I lay still long enough my feet will get really cold and feel heavy. Is that feeling in my feet most likely sleep paralysis?

Unless the rest of your body feels the same way, I think your feet are just getting numb.

Let me ask you this, are you maintaining a high state of awareness when you attempt WILDs, or are you trying to maintain low awareness? I may have managed to induce sleep paralysis while more awake, but I find that it's easier and more likely to induce it when you're more relaxed and closer to sleep. In fact, it's necessary for you to be close to unconscious sleep to enter a dream.

I forgot to mention that It felt like it was kinda crawling up my feet into my legs and stuff but I moved because Im not use to the feeling and the cold heavy feeling disappeared.

Ill try to have high awareness as i'm trying to WILD but sometimes ill drift off and ill realize I drifted off and then ill re focus on WILDing. I normally try to visualize what I want to do while WILDing but I think thats more of a V-WILD

I feel like I got my body moving in some unnatural way
What do I do from there?

I just got really close tonight. I tried at about 8:30 but I was so tired that after about half
an hour I started to drift off. I didn't want to fall asleep and I knew I couldn't keep from
doing so, so I went to the anchor to grab some coffee. I drank it and came back. My
second attempt was much better, I went through the usual progression with no problems
      with falling asleep.

      - hands get warm and go numb
      - feet get warm and tingly
      - numbness moves up to wrists
      - neck starts to get numb and moves up locking my jaw
      - numbness moves up my arms
      - feet get numb
      - numbness moves up my jaw around my ears
      - Auditory hallucinations begin
      - feet and hands drift off more
      - numbness moves up around my face leaving my nose and eyes unaffected
      - numbness increases in feet and hands
      - eyes start to lose feeling
      - Visuals begin
      - my face starts to tingle around my nose
      - feet start to feel like they're "sifting away" starting with the toes and going down to my heels
      - numbness encapsulates my body in warmth and slight pressure
      - body becomes faint like a light-headed feeling you get when you get up, but the entire body
      then the fun starts
      - I become disoriented
      - My limbs seem to "drift" to places they can't possibly be.
      - My whole body feels "encased"
      - Breathing becomes labored as if there is something stopping me from getting my lungs too empty or too full.
Then the onset of sleep paralysis
      - Extreme pressure
      - Breathing becomes even more labored, the "lung ratio" narrows.
      - My body feels like my spinal column is a gravity well, pulling my arms and legs together
      - My heart beat gets very strong resonating throughout my body
      - The "heart beat" gets extremely fast although it is not my heart beat

This was what I experienced the time I entered SP
Just now, I got to the very beginning of the "gravity well" feeling.

I'm hoping to succeed in getting this to work soon,
I feel like this description could be very useful for
future attempting WILDers, I will post back here what
      I find.

      Sweet dreams everyone,
      ~Wes
