Advanced in WILDing, but reached a wall.

I've been trying to perform a WILD for about a month and a half now, and I'm now at the point where I can reach something that is either the transition phase to SP or very much resembles it.

About 5-10 minutes after returning to bed post-WBTB (5 hours after falling asleep), I reach a phase where suddenly, I feel a tingling around my body. I feel slightly heavier, my head vibrates a bit, and my eyes try to make themselves open, which I have to keep them shut through with as little force as I can. My entire body goes number than previously with this sensation, but it only lasts around 10 seconds. Then it disappears and I return to where I was before.

Unfortunately, I can never make it past this stage. Whenever this happens, I return to where I was before. I'm not sure what it is, or what I can do to allow it to take me to SP if that IS the transition, & if it's not, I have no idea what it is anyways. Can anyone help me understand what this is and how to get past it? Any help would be nice, & I'm willing to answer any questions that need answering to help.

You are trying this in the morning, correct? If you are attempting a WILD at night with no sleep beforehand it could explain your difficulty.

As I said above, I do it during a WBTB. My attempts are 5 hours after I fall asleep, which is my WBTB time.

      my bad, reading durr
I'd wager you aren't tired enough, remember the goal of WILDing is still to fall asleep- just barely keeping a hold on reality. Try only getting up long enough to be conscious and giving it a try. Also try to avoid thinking about your physical body, ie, don't go "omg whats this my legs are asleep! Wait wait my feet are feeling weird too!" etc. just try to let your mind go blank.

Tell you the truth, I'd have to offer the opposite- I go to sleep fairly tired, possibly just a bit more than I should be. I've had to extend my time of staying awake by about 2 minutes, because before that I would fall asleep instantly, and when I tried staying up around 15 minutes, I didn't even get close to the stage I get to right now.

Yeah, the primary goal is to find that 'sweet spot', just keep going lower and lower until you end up falling asleep, then go higher. The feelings you feel may just be blood circulation, try to stick it out longer until you experience visual and auditory hallucinations. Also try gingerly rolling over after about 20 min.

You are doing everything right. Keep doing exactly what you are doing, with a bit more patience. It is common to feel these sensations in two or three waves before you finally enter the dream. Don't be fooled if the sensations suddenly stop, and you feel completely awake. Don't give up or get disappointed. Keep doing what you were just doing, and they will return quickly. Bounce back and forth a few times, and you will end up in a dream.
