    Thread: Mixed up jumble of WILDing methods (to stay aware).. not sure which one to use

      Perhaps you don't need more awareness from that at all. Keep in mind that when trying to do it without prior sleep, you're not going straight into REM. This can lead to a non-REM WILD but a very poor clarity one. Another thing to keep in mind, find your REM periods. You usually wake up right after a dream which would most likely have occurred in REM, so maybe take away 30 minutes from when you first wake up and that's part of your REM cycle.
