      [HELP] How to regain awareness

I have tried WILD a lot of times with no contented result, at least I succeeded sometimes

Almost all of my trial ending in TOO AWAKE because I am trying too much to keep my awareness
I know the point to succeed doing WILD is to lose awareness and regain it right when you are going to fall asleep, and this is where my confusion comes from

How to regain awareness again? When I try to keep it, I am too awake, but when I do not, I am falling asleep

Also, I have such a breathing problem when I am lying on my back

      Any suggestions?

well, once i did it accidentally.without any anchors.i was just wilding and fell asleep, i began to dream, when suddenly i remembered what i was supposed to stay conscious and woke up in sleep paralysis. i tried to visualise beach, and begun to hear sound of waves, but then i just accidentally woke myself up. so i guess u have to set the intention to wake up.

So, it means that intention plays a big role too in WILD (I forget about this)

Thanks for your suggestion, hope for other's too

It's a very fine balancing act. If you too awake from the beginning, tell yourself to just go asleep normally, so you stop being excited. When close to falling asleep, start saying a mantra (you can start earlier, if you not too awake). Mantra should keep you on task, remind you what you doing. Simple mantra like "I'm dreaming" should do.

Sometimes I do fall asleep for a few seconds and then come out of it and this can happen a few times. Hopefully one of these times when you come out of it, you will be able to enter dream consciously.

If you not comfortable sleeping on your back, because this is not your usuall sleeping position, you should switch to comfortable one. You have very little chance to succesfully WILD, if you not comfortable. Happy dreams

I have had success with WILD and WBTB.

      Let me explain.

I have kids. During the school year I have a tendency to stay up until midnight or 1A.M. before waking around 6:30 to 7A.M. Once I get my kids to school I frequently go back to sleep. I do this in a living room chair with my feet on the ottoman.

The chair allows me to remain semi-reclined (solving the breathing problem) yet comfortable. Being in the living room allows me to be more conscious of my surroundings (by being in a different location) and exposes me to more street and neighborhood noise (elements that often transfer into my dreams). In this manner I often carry awareness or elements of the waking world into my dreams.

This helps both with WILD and DILD.

As gab said, comfort is very important. Find a spot that works for you if your bed isn't doing the job or change position.

Okay, I get the point of your explanation, so I just have to go to sleep as usual without any intentions to do WILD
And when I feel sleepy enough to sleep, I should start saying mantras

Thank you for your explanation and also the likes

Your experience reminds me about mine too
I had ever experienced the same thing,
It was holiday and I woke up after about 8 hours of sleep, then I played games for about 1 hour
Because I was bored, I planed to sleep for a bit more
When I was about to fall asleep, in all of a sudden I remembered to try WILD and I directly got into SP
I got a FA, but forgot to do RC, so I was awake again
After that, I succeeded to enter SP for 3 times more easily

And it explains how important a prior sleep really is

      But, holiday is over

You should not think about WILDing only, if it makes you too excited and it would take you hours to fall asleep. Sometimes I try to trick myself like that, so I calm down. But I know, I'm going to WILD, and as soon as I calm down, I start with mantras and start paying passive attention to what's going on behind my closed eyelids. Hope this helps. Don't hesitate to ask any question, in the forum or via PM. Happy dreams

Yeah...don't lie on your back. Second bit of advice: read a good guide, like mzzkc's.
